Qidsaiid - < 0Titince/t bedding Love filled the moment and the moment began On Saturday, August 27, 1983, at 3:00 p.m. at Newcastle United Church when family, relatives, and friends witnessed witnessed the marriage of Wendy. Karen, youngest daughter of Wendell and Freda Trineer, Orono to Robin Bruce, youngest son of R. Brenton and Jean Rickard, Newcastle. The church was beautifully decorated in dusty rose and white to accent the matron of honour and bridesmaid's full two piece designed gown of dusty rose skirts accented with dusty rose cummerbund and bow tie on their delicately laced blouses. The best man and usher looked stunning dressed alike in black shawl style tuxedos with dusty rose cummerbund and bow tie. The groom wore a matching white jacket with black pants, black vest and white ascot. The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a beautiful feminine bridal gown in white chiffon featuring a high stand-up neckline with delicate lace appliques. The designed fitted bodice fell softly into a full length train. The long peaked sleeves and bodice were enhanced enhanced with pearl and sequin- ned beading detail, lace appliques and trim. The head- piece was a styled floral wreath of dainty white flowers and pearled peps which held a knee length veil with scalloped edges. The bride carried a crescent bouquet of white orchids, stephanotis, fuschia lilies and baby's breath, Matron of honour was Sandi Trineer Plumbtree, Bowman- ville. The bridesmaid was Sharon Trineer Neil, Stan- bridge East} 2 Quebec, both sisters of the bride. They carried nosegays of fuschia lilies and stephanotis circled with miniature orchids. The best man was Doug Rickard and the usher was George Rickard. Both brothers of the groom reside in Newcastle. The Reverend Donald Stiles, Newcastle United Church officiated at the double ring ceremony. The violinist, Mr. Dan Penney of Oshawa played 'Evergreen' among other selections while the guests awaited the arrival. Mr. Penney also sang 'The Wedding Wedding Song' while playing the guitar. He was accompanied by pianist, Carolyn Mostert, Bowmanville. Master of Ceremonies Ceremonies was Dr. Graham Neil, brother-in-law of the bride. The bride and groom's parents received the guests at the formal reception held at the Flying Dutchman Motor Inn, Bowmanville. Following, t the bride and groom left on their honeymoon wearing matching suits in white and turquoise. The very happy couple are now residing in Newcastle. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ogden of Newtonville, and the bridegroom bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Reid of Nipawin, Saskatchewan. The Reverend Gordon Montgomery of Peterborough officiated at the double ring ceremony. 1 The organist was Mrs. Helen W'ood, and the soloist was Miss Kim Gilmer. Master of ceremonies was Mr. Donald Ogden. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a formal gown of white chiffon featuring a high neckline with schiffley lace trim cameo effect extending unto a sheer net bodice. The sleeves were slim fitting with lace applique trim. The top of the gown was fitted onto a full skirt of softly flowing chiffon trimmed with a deep layer of chantilly lace which extended into a wide train at the back of the gown. This was highlighted with accordian pleating, and chantilly chantilly lace appliques. The bride's headpiece was a tiny crown fitting closely to the head with pearl design trim, accented by a thin, whispy veiling and lace flowers. She carried a cascade of red roses and carnations and white baby's breath. The bride was attended by the maid of honour, Miss Nancy Buell, Miss Julie Ogden, sister of the bride and Miss Kathy Reid, sister of the groom. They were gowned alike in pink chiffon gowns. Each carried a bouquet of ink carnations with baby's reath.' The best man « was Captain Phil Gruber and the ushers were Mr. Frank .Reid, brother of the groom and Mr. Donald Ogden, brother of the bride. They were attired in pale blue tuxedoes with navy trousers. The groom was attired in his formal air force dress uniform. uniform. The bridal couple were accompanied from the church by Pipe Major Alex Howie. The reception was held at the Orono Community Centre where the bride's mother received the guests, wearing an aqua chiffon gown with yellow roses and the groom's mother wearing a dusty rose gown of jersey accented with a lace jacket with white roses. A miscellaneous shower was held in the Sunday school hall in Newtonville and the conveners conveners were Mrs. Inez Boughen, Mrs. Carol Gilmer and Kim, Mrs. Dorothy Stapleton. A shower was held at the home of Mrs. Morley Robinson Robinson of Starkvilie. A miscellaneous shower by her cousin, Mrs. Gordon of Welcome. A shower was given by her aunt, Mrs. Fred Hard, Millbrook. The bride is employed at Peterborough Civic Hospital as Lab Technologist and a shower was also given to her by the lab staff. The upper auditorium contained baked goods, while the lower hall offered a wide selection of rummage sale items.
