Mayor Garnet Rickard received the plaque Friday from Donna Fairey who spearheaded the commemorative tree project. Instrumental in the success of the endeavour were Harry Van Belle of Van Belle Gardens, Eric Gareau and John Manuel. Buckham Tpt. Major Pee Wee Toros Bow te Petes, Win 2 Later Games Peterborough visited Darlington Arena on Saturday, November 26 for a regular league game with the Major Pee Wee Toros sponsored by Buckham Transport Limited. These two teams met earlier in the year with the Toros handling the Petes with ease. Possibly the Bowmanville boys thought this would be a repeat. They were in for quite a shock as they went down to a 2-1 defeat. The lone Toro marksman was Neil Taylor with Paul Woodlock picking up the assist. Don't underestimate any team. Always give 100 per cent. The Toros travelled to Port Hope for another league game on Tuesday, November 29. The Transporters took a 2-0 first period lead on goals from Paul Woodlock'and Shane . Armstrong afld 1 Tony Van Hoof, Steve. Smith and Troy Mutton earning assists. Port Hope were outscored 3-1 in the second period with Doug Lever, Tony Van Hoof and Steve Smith doing the damage for the Toros. Second period assists were earned by Jeff Woodlock, Dean Baumhauer, Paul Woodlock, Neil Taylor and Troy Mutton. Bowmanville added three third period markers to take home an 8-1 victory. Jeff and Paul Woodlock each scored as well as Tony Van Hoof, Tim Partridge with 2, Paul Woodlock and Neil Taylor were awarded assists on the third period goals. In an exhibition game December 3 the Buckham squad took on the Oshawa Bruins from the L.N.H.L. The Toros skated away with an easy 9-3 victory. Goal scorers for Bowmanville were Shane Armstrong with a hat trick, Steve Smith also with 3, Troy . Mutton, Tory Van Hoof and Dean Baumhauer. Assists' were earned by Shane Armstrong (4), Troy Mutton (2), Steve Smith (2), Jeff Woodlock (2), Doug Lever (2), Tim Partridge (2), Paul Woodlock, Dean Baumhauer (2) and John Paul Duczmalewski. On December 4, the Toros hit the Belleville arena with all cylinders firing. They displayed hustle, teamwork and positional play to completely dominate the Belleville squad, bringing home a 17-1 win. Two goalscorers were Greg Goode (2) , Jeff Woodlock (2), Troy Mutton (2), Shane Armstrong (3) , Steve Smith (3), Tony Van Hoof (2), Dean Baumhauer (2), and Tim Partridge.
