Exciting Trip Mrs. Leila Werry and Mrs. Thelma Gilbank have returned returned home from their trip to Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, Zealand, Fiji and Hawaii. Christmas Dinner A very good attendance at the pot-luck dinner held on Thursday noon, Dec. 1, in the I.O.O.F. Hall, when the Orono Sr. Citizens held their Christmas Christmas party. Mrs. Doris Wannan and Mrs. Edith Taylor conducted the business portion of the meeting, and then everyone enjoyed their gift exchange. Following this, cards were enjoyed by everyone present. The ladies enjoyed a delicious dessert tea and the president, Lois Brown, welcomed welcomed everyone. The secretary, Marie Tamblyn, gave the minutes of the previous meeting and Doreen gave the very encouraging encouraging financial reports. The various conveners gave reports reports on the year's activities and several thank you letters were read out. Plans were drawn up for the Christmas supper and party on Thurs day, Dec. 15, at 6 o'clock. Plan to attend this special event in the U.C.W. The directors of Durham County Sr. Citizens Lodge held their annual meeting in the new hall, last Wednesday evening, Nov. 30, with a good attendance. Mr. Ray Stewart chaired the meeting and the report of the financial affairs was given by the auditor from Ward Malette Chartered Accountants, Whitby. A social time was enjoyed, following the meeting.
