Right Defense NOBLE LEADS TOROS WITH 4 GOAL PERFORMANCE In a rare week where the Toros only played one game they did so in fine fashion led by a 4 goal performance from Brian Noble to defeat the Oshawa Canadians 5-0. This was the first meeting with the Oshawa team but judging from their performance they did everything on the ice but play hockey. The Toros handled themselves well as the Canadians used their sticks for everything but shooting and passing. They also had two players ejected from the game. Period one was scoreless although the Toros had several chances on the powerplay when Oshawa had five minors throughout the first 15 minutes. Three goals were scored in the second, all on the power- play, the first two came off the stick of Brian Noble from the defense pair of Bob McArthur and Kelly Armstrong and then from McArthur and Chris Beck. Chris Shmyr got the third tally on passes from John Romano and Jamie Downing. Noble finished off the scoring with two more in the final frame. Chris Beck got the solo assist on both goals and the second one was scored: while the team was a man short. The goaltending duties were shared by Smith and Webster both working well to earn the shutout. Tuesday, the 20th should prove to be interesting as the Toros play the "A.A.A." Minor Bantams from Oshawa. The teams have met twice before and both contests have ended in a draw. Both teams will be determined not to have the third meeting end in the same manner. The players, coaching staff and parents will be travelling to Hespeler several times over the holidays for a tournament, so good luck and drive carefully. carefully. Merry Christmas to all of you.
