Brenda and Mark were married Dec. 31, 1983 at Trinity United Church in . Bowmanville. The ceremony ceremony was performed by the Reverend John Peters. Susan Brown, sister-in-law of the groom was the maid of honour and the best man was Donnie Brown, brother of the groom. Family and friends gathered gathered at the bride's family home for a reception following the ceremony. The newlyweds are residing in Newcastle. B.H.S. NEWS By Sam Laskaris East Thursday, the regular season concluded for the three B.H.S. boys' basketball teams. After very slow starts for the three teams this year the teams seem to be peaking in their season which is essential essential to be successful in the playoffs. Speaking of the playoffs, playoffs, all three B.H.S. teams played their quarter-final matches yesterday. We'll have the results of these en- coiinters in next week's issue. The B.H.S. midget team ended its season on a winning note, defeating Port Perry on Thursday by a score of 41 - 38. Thfe victory clinched fifth place for Bowmanville in the Division I standings. The B.H.S. junior team split their league games last week. On Monday, they defeated Dunbarton 54 - 45. Rod Tukker played another excellent game accumulating half (27) of Bowmanville's points. Jay Kelly also added 12 points and Dan Peters contributed 10 pojhts. On Thursday, it was just not to be as the Redmen suffered a heartbreaking 53 - 52 jefeat to,Port Perry. Sloppy play in our end led to Newmarket's first goal. Warren Townsley's brother, a member of the Relics, gained his first of two assists on this play. Grant Wright sent Siegi Rohr away with a fine pass. Siegi drew the defender and slipped a neat pass behind his back to Ron Rushak who was driving in on the left side. Ron gobbled up the pass, raced in and fired a perfect shot high , into the left corner. The Newmarket team is to be given great credit for rallying rallying and scoring four unanswered unanswered goals to tie the game and set the stage for George Sainsbury's winning marker. Bob Hellam and Bruce Meadows did some fine checking checking to set George up for this final blast which was a patented Sainsbury rifle shot from over 30 feet.
