DURHAM AGRICULTURAL NEWS By John Finlay, Agricultural Representative Durham County Holstein Club Plans Farm Visits The Durham County Holstein Holstein Club has planned an educational day for March 24th to visit the herds of four outstanding young Holstein Breeders in Victoria. This is an excellent opportunity for breeders to observe the production production plan on other dairy farms and to visually evaluate the daughters of bulls in A.I. studs. The Tour starts at the "Kawartha" herd of Ed McMorrow near Oakwood at 11 a.m. The second stop at noonhour is the "Fairholm" herd of John Hope, Lindsay followed by visits to "Jeff- vue", owned by Ron and Jan Jeffrey and "Robrook", the herd of Robin Parrish of Woodville. All breeders of Holstein cattle in the County are urged to attend.. Dairy Herd Improvement Annual Awards Banquet The Annual Meeting of the Durham County Dairy Herd Improvement Corporation will be held in the United Church, Orono at 12 o'clock noon on Thursday, March 22nd. Awards will be presented presented to Supervised Herds for Most Improved Herd, Top Production Herd, Best Calving Calving Interval and Highest Plus Production Cow. The guest speaker will be Peter Gould from the Ontario Milk Marketing Marketing Board. Tickets are available available from DHI Supervisors. .
