After ritual, our leader Sandy MacCormack and co-leader Mary Ann Innis, presented gifts to several members who had helped the club in different ways during the year. The winner of Division 4 was Mamie Woolley with a loss of 28 lbs and the runner-up was Donna Heard with a loss of 16'/i lbs. The winner of Division 5 was Sheilagh Hockett with a loss of 10>2 lbs. High Yearly Loser was Mamie Woolley (with a loss of 28 lbs.) and was presented with the Jean Hungerford Memorial Trophy for high yearly loser. Runner-up to high yearly loser was Sandy Bebee with a loss of 20% lbs. Our new Chapter Queen is Sandy MacCormack with a loss of 64'A lbs. Sandy joined Tops October 5,1981 and in her own quiet but determined way started losing weight, slowly but very surely. On January 11, 1983 she reached her goal and became a Hops. Ruth Mitchell had the pleasure of placing the crown on Sandy and Mary Ann Innis presented her with flowers, a plaque and a gift from the Club. The bride is the daughter of the Reverend and Mrs. Victor Parsons of Colborne and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Leadbeater of Enniskillen. Officiating at the double ring ceremony were the bride's father and Rev. Herbert Linstead of Colborne. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of chantilly lace and chiffon with long Bishop sleeves and à ' high neckline enhanced by lace and pearl beading over a sheer yoke. The full-length chiffon skirt extended to a full train which carried a deep ruffle of chantilly lace. TTie ensemble was complemented by a cathedral length veil trimmed with tiny lace flowers which fell from a headpiece of Guipure lace and she carried a beautiful cascading silk bouquet of pink roses and white orchids. Marlene Parsons, sister of the bride, was maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Lynn Campbell of Toronto, Aileen Cross of Alfred, Ont., Lynda Parsons, sister of the bride, and junior bridesmaid was Jennifer Lee of Blackstock. They all wore suede rose taffeta gowns with pleated cummerbund, chiffon sleeves and lace yoke with ruffled neckline. The flower girl was Dana Lee of Blackstock who wore a white taffeta gown with suede rose cummerbund, long Bishop sleeves and high, lace neckline. The bride's attendants carried matching silk bouquets of pink roses and baby's breath and the flowergirl carried a basket of pink roses. George Leadbeater of Oshawa, brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Ian Barkwell of Oshawa, David Buttery of Tyrone, and Donald Knight of Oshawa. Junior usher was Gregory Knipple, cousin of the bride, from Pennsylvania, U.S.A. The ringbearer was Mark Leadbeater, nephew of the groom. The groom and his attendants wore grey morning suits. , The bride s mother wore a dusty rose coloured full-length: dress with lace inset at the yoke and a chiffon jacket with; a matching corsage of silk 1 roses. ' The groom's mother wore a long-sleeved plum coloured full-length dress with high neckline. She also wore a matching corsage of silk flowers. The organist was Mrs. Audrey Beauchamp of Port Perry. The soloist, Mrs. Eleanor Bailey, also of Port Perry, sang "O Perfect Love, The Wedding Hymn, and We've Only Just Begun". The bride's sister, Marlene Parsons sang "The Wedding Prayer". The reception and dance was held at the Colborne Legion Hall. Richard Knipple of Pennsylvania, cousin of the bride, was the master of ceremonies with Reverend Boyce Elliott of Brooklin saying grace, and Reverend Ken Russ of Stirling giving the toast to the bride. Out-of-town guests came from Toronto, Stouffville, Oshawa, Ottawa, Sutton and Pennsylvania, U.S.A. The Reverend Dale Davis officiated at the ceremony ceremony of Patti Elizabeth Bryans to Richard Patrick Alpe. Patti is the only daughter daughter of Bob and Nancy Bryans, Blackstock. Richard is the youngest son of Arturo and Carmella Alpe, Guelph. The bride, given in marriage by her father and mother, looked radiant in her Victorian-styled chiffon gown designed with ruffled lace at the bodice and hemline. Complementing Complementing her dress was a lovely hat made of pearls and lace with flowing veil. The bride's flowers consisted of white orchids, lily of the valley, stephanotis, speckled white carnations with Boston fern and ivy. The mother of the bride wore a dusty rose formal gown with a matching long-sleeved jacket. The groom's mother wore a wedgewood blue formal gown uASpe - ^B/tycms with a matching jacket. The bridesmaids wore white lace- trimmed blouses with high ruffled collars and grape taffeta skirts with wide sashes. The Matron of Honour was Wilma Wotten, and the bridesmaids bridesmaids were Angela Alpe, sister of the groom; Wendy Killens, aunt of the bride; Debbie Short, and Lorri Fairey, cousin of the bride. The groom and the ushers were dressed in black double- breasted tuxedos with winged- collared shirts. The best man was Paul Knapp, Mike Alpe, brother of the groom; Gord and Steve Bryans, brothers of the bride; and Pete Keuning. After the church service, there was an outdoor reception reception at the home of the bride's parents. Bob Smith, was the Master of Ceremonies. An excellent dinner prepared by the ONO ladies at the Black- stock Recreation Centre, was followed by a dance. Prior to the wedding, the bride and groom were guests of honour at a Jack and Jill Shower held by Scott and Karen Essery, Courtice; a Time Shower held by Wilma Wotten assisted by the bridesmaids. bridesmaids.
