The reception and dance was held at the Nestle- ton Hall. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Baumchen and her family on the passing passing of Michael Baumchen Baumchen Sr. on the weekend. weekend. Better health in wished wished for Russell Larmer who is a patient in Bowmanville Hospital and to Cecil and Evelyn Hamilton who are both patients in Port Perry Hospital. Good wishes go with Mrs. Lulu Graham who recently became a resident at Marnwood Nursing Home, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, to Mrs. Alma Taylor who became a resident at Sunnycrest Nursing Home in Whitby. Mrs. Susie Harris has left Port Perry Hospital and is spending time with her family. We are happy these three ladies have all improved to be able to leave hospital after lengthy stays. Glenn and Marion Larmer and Richard and Ruby VanCamp attended the 30 year Reunion at Kemptville Agricultural School over the weekend. Jack and Helen Green also attended the Reunion of his class at K.A.S. Congratulations to Peter Malin who received received a Special Award at Graduation Ceremonies Ceremonies at Durham College. Good work Peter. Glenn and Marion Larmer attended Convocation Convocation Ceremonies of the University of Guelph on Friday when their son Craig received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Degree. They were guests at the Awards Luncheon when Craig received the Students' Federation O.A.C. Gold Medal Award. Congratultions Craig. On Sunday Harvey and Joan Graham, Mark and Rob hosted a family gathering. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Chester Graham, Mr. Lou Graham, Tom and Lois Feltis, Cheryl, Peter and Randy, Barry and Jean Jones, Pat and Justin all of Dalyrmple, Mrs. Reg Boundey, Port Perry, Cheryl Graham, Oshawa, Gerald and Joyce Kelly, Elizabeth, Eleanor, Elaine and Esther. The Youth Group held a very successful car wash on Saturday. On Wednesday evening a fine crowd of parents and friends attended the annual Music Programme entitled Spring Up '84 at the Cartwright Central Public School. Brian Beatty acted as a very efficient M.C. for the programme which opened opened with the Primary choir conducted by Mrs. Swain. They sang Ontario, Ontario, We're Proud That It is our Home, Annie and Give us A Place To Stand. Mrs. J. Jeffrey conducted the Concert Band in playing When the Saints, Amazing Grace and Ain't We Got Fun. The Grade 5 Recorders Recorders directed by Mrs. Elliott played several numbers including including some rounds. The Intermediate Choir under the direction of Miss Love sang Take A Little Time and Fame. Nike Bardeleben had two piano solos followed by the quintet Niki Bardeleben, Michelle Cummings, Erica Hiemstra, Jennifer Lin- ington and Jeffrey Beddome performed Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain. Mr, Hinch pre sented this group with Bicentennial Certificates Certificates for their work over the past several months on the Bicentennial Bicentennial theme in the area. Mrs. Jeffrey's everyone with I Am But A Small Voice, Pussywillows, Pussywillows, Cattails, and I May Not Be The Best. This choir was joined by the Recorder Group to present The Maple Leaf Forever. A most interesting introduction was made. The writer of this famous song, well known to the older people in the audience, Alexander Muir's two great granddaughters, Mrs. Connie Johnson and Mrs. Jean Mc- Knight both of Toronto were in the audience. At this point Mr. Robert Thistel, a poet from Lindsay who wrote the words for Grow Along With Ontario for which our own Miss K. Morton wrote the music presented the C.C.P.S. a framed Bicentennial Poem. Mr. Hinch graciously graciously accepted this gift. The evening concluded concluded with all choirs joined by the recorder under the direction of Miss Morton singing the Bicentennial Bicentennial song Grow Along With Ontario and 0 Canada. It was a very enjoyable enjoyable evening of music. On Saturday a group of local ladies enjoyed the presentation of Shaw's play The Devil's Disciple at the Shaw Festival at Niagara-on- the-Lake. The Blackstock United Church Family Picnic was held at Cartwright Park, Caesarea on Sunday afternoon. A fine sports programme was conducted conducted by the teachers followed by a bountiful pot luck supper. This officially brings the Sunday Sunday School term to a close until it resumes next fall. At the United Church service on Sunday morning members of the Beavers, Brownies, Cubs, Guides and Scouts and their leaders attended as a body complete with colour party. Those who had achieved various levels of Religion in Life participated in the service. Rev. D. Davis preached a very suitable suitable sermon "Signs and Symbols". The leaders presented the following badges: Level 2 presented to Joan Swain to Brandie Waldriff, Jill VanCamp, Lorrie Swain, Vicki Schryburt and Jennifer Fletcher; Level 3 by Brenda Bryant to Ester Kelly, Elaine Kelly and Julie Byers; Level 4 by Brenda Bryant to Esther Kelly, Elaine Kelly and Julie Byers; Level 4 by Brenda Bryant to Elaine Kelly and Ed Chorostecki to Ken Wilson, Congratulations Congratulations young people on your achievement. Service will be held on Sunday, June 10 and the Strawberry Supper will be Friday, June 22. The St. John's Anglican Anglican Church is busy planning their Spring Supper to be held at the Parish Hall on Saturday June 16. Canada's trees are no match for WILDFIRE t )
