The award was one of several presented Sunday, J une 3, during the annual Sea Cadet inspection held in the Newcastle Arena. "Best Wishes" to Helen for good health! Bernice Chambers was the hostess of Kappa Delta chapter's chapter's Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, last meeting. She also presented presented her cultural program entitled entitled "Friendship." Bernice noted the qualities we find in friendship and how our friendships friendships grow. Plans for a family picnic and B.B.Q. at Cedar Park on June 10th were finalized by the Social Committee. Barbara McFadyen, president president for 1984-85 announced that Beginning Day will be held on August 28, at her home. It will be a Pool Party and members were asked to consider and bring ideas for the chapter's rushing party in the fall. Anyone wishing to learn more about Beta Sigma Phi, can contact any sorority member. Barb McFadyen closed the meeting and afterward everyone everyone enjoyed a Banada Split Party. May 30th the Golden Stars Sr. Citizens held their regular meeting with shuffleboard in the morning from 10 to 12. Final arrangements were made for the mini Tea room at the Manvers Arts and Craft Show on June 2nd and 3rd. Margaret Wright read some literature on.bus trips coming up this summer. June 13th will be the annual meeting with a Dixie Lee Chicken luncheon at noon. Mrs. Ken Syer's group was in charge of thé programme.
