"Fashions with Flare" An entirely distinctive fashion show greeted the sell-out audience on Wednesday, May 30th in Orono United Church, sponsored sponsored by ladies of unit no. 3. The very beautiful fashions fashions were all sewn by the models themselves and in the case of the very young models, by their mothers. The show was produced by the owner herself of "Deb's Fashions & Sewing Centre", right here in Orono! Miss Debra Davis is a very personable young lady of tender years, so very clever in sewing departments departments that she teaches others, and so successful in the difficult world of business, business, she will soon be moving moving into new and larger premises. The many fashions on view were all courtesy of "Kwick Sew Patterns" of Canada Ltd. Everything from cozy winter ski-suits, pyjamas, fancy lingerie, casual everyday wear, to dress-up suede suites, and co-ordinates. The very attractive models models included Sheri Held, Sandra Henton, Paisley Stutt, Sylvia Vanderschee, Peggy Blascke, Patty Clascke, Marsha Blascke, Stacey McGellvay, Sally Minnis, Anne Powell, Charlene Charlene Lewis, Stephanie Clap- dorp, Christa Clapdorp, Sarah Benford, Jason Ben- ford (the lone young male model), Jennifer Barnard and Carla Worry. The very talented commentator was Mrs. Lorraine Baird, General General Manager of Kwick Sew Patterns, of Canada Ltd. The assistants in dressing rooms included Sandra Lewis, Anna Marie Barnard, Barnard, Mary Clapdorp and Deb Johnson (the designer of the lovely suede designs). Over 400 Applications Accepted at Placement Centre By Catherine Denny Angela De Jong is the new Placement Officer at the Student Student Employment Centre in Bowmanville. Angela was born and raised in Bowmanville and is a student student at the University of Western Western Ontario going into her fourth year of Business Administration. Administration. She started her summer job last month after completing her exams and plans to return to Western in the fall for her final year. The office which opened in the Bowmanville Mall April 24th, has accepted over 400 student registration forms so far, 60 of which have already found placement. Posters and pamphlets will soon be distributed throughout the area as a reminder, of "Hire A Student Week" which runs June lll-22nd. The theme this year is "The Odd Job Squad" which is exactly what many students are looking for.
