It was our pleasure to attend the wedding dance in Ops Arena on Saturday evening evening with the many other guests. Wendy and her entourage entourage of bridesmaids looked particularly lovely on the happy occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Endicotl of Lindsay, recently returned home from a most interesting 19 day tour to Alaska. At this time of year daylight never ends which could make a pretty long day. Miss Mona Malcolm and Mr. Ronnie Sharman and three of their Lindsay friends spent last weekend at the Milzi and Bob Pick cottage near Eagle Lake and participated participated in celebrating Mitzi's birthday. A Malcolm family birthday party was held in Mitzi's honour on Monday at Malconia with the usual family members present plus Louis and Elizabeth Nasato of Port Credit. Of possible interest to some of our local readers, our minister for the Janetville charge - Mr. Denis Fransky - will be on holidays during the month of July. Church services services will be curtailed with only one service each Sunday. Following is the list of services: July 1 - Decoration Service at Janetville. July 8 - Yelverton United Church. July 15 - At Mount Hareb United. July 22 at Janetville United. July 29 - No service arranged arranged for this Sunday. All services services will be held at 10:15 a.m. each Sunday. Church services will resume as usual in August at customary times and place. Congratulations are extended extended to Mr. and Mrs. Allan Howe on the safe arrival of a new grandson (the first bearing the Howe name) to their son Lynn and daughter- in-law in Edmonton. Allan is getting a preview of his new grandson this week en route to and from Vancouver where he is currently spending a week on business. Mrs. Ann Hurren and Holly held Open House so to speak on Monday afternoon when they entertained some 35 relatives and friends for a social afternoon. Friends from a distance included Norma and Jim Beggs, Crystal and Stacey of Port Elgin. Were pleased to have Miss Mickey Burns and a girlfriend of Toronto, drop in at Malconia Malconia for a visit en route home from Peterborough on Monday. Mickey was a Grandview School colleague of Mona's a few years back. Learned with regret of the passing of a former High School teacher of ours - the former Eva Brown, who taught for many years at Blackstock High School. She was an excellent teacher whose expertise was not always appreciated by her charges. She could silence the toughest teenager with one frosty glance if lie got out of place. Sometime one doesn't appreciate our mentors till years after when one is able to assess them objectively. Mr. Howard Malcolm spent several days last week in Regina attending meetings last Saturday. Eileen and Howard left for several days of business and vacation attending attending the Semi Annual Meeting in Moncton, New Brunswick returning oh Wed. of this week. Now with John Turner safely installed as Prime Minister and the prospect of a Federal Election in the offing, the Canadian Electorate appears to have the magnificent magnificent choice of choosing either a Liberal Conservative or a Conservative Liberal as the leader of the next ruling party. Ho Hum - it should be a real stimulating election of the Blue Stripe set with Broadbenl screaming futilely in the wings about the Bobsy twins of Bay Street. Although many voters considered Trudeau arrogant and uncaring, bland and boring he was not. The next election promises to be strictly from Dullsville. Women's Club Learns About Doll Making The art of making porcelain porcelain dolls was demonstrated demonstrated by Pat Godsmark, of the Bowmanville Bowmanville Visual Arts Centre, at the monthly meeting of the Christian Women's Club. The meeting was held at the Lion's Community Centre on Tuesday, June 19th. Pat brought with her some examples of the fine work being done in making these very lovely dolls at the Visual Arts Centre. These porcelain dolls are made from originally designed designed molds. The clothes are also hand made, using patterns copied from the early era of doll making. Pat told the group she got her start in ceramics by making items such as frogs and ashtrays. As her talent developed, she learned the art of porcelain doll making. making. Following the opening remarks remarks Linda Norton sang a gospel hymn entitled Sweet Adoration. Linda has just recently appeared at the Peoples' Church in Toronto and was also presented on local cable television. The afternoon program concluded with a talk entitled entitled "Beauty for the Heart" by Ruth Pitt. Patrick G.
