By randomly analyzing the fruit and leaves in orchards orchards the students, studying in the field of agriculture, agriculture, are able to determine what the danger is and recommend a specific specific chemical that should correct it. This cuts down on unnecessary unnecessary spraying. The 'Their job is to analyze chards to determine the effecting the crops. farmer has only to use those chemicals which are needed to get rid of his particular particular problem. The project is beneficial not only to the farmers who get an accurate account of the state of their orchards, but also to the students who gain practical experience samples taken from or- types of pests or disease in their field of study. Returning university students, students, Anne Rimes, Annelies Annelies Tenwesteneind, and Barb Panas, employees of this year's program, find that the job will be a great' help to them when they return return to their courses in the fall. "Analyzing leaves and apples apples and familiarizing myself myself with various diseases and chemicals will give me a head start with my labs next year," said Annelies a science student at the University University of Guelph. But, the experience is just icing on the cake. The girls really like what they do. "This job gets me outdoors outdoors a lot and allows me to work on my own," said Anne who is attending Lauren- tian University.. "I enjoy that." Barb Panas, now in her fourth year of Biology at University of Toronto works with Annelies and Anne doing similar studies but is working under the direct supervision of the Horticultural Horticultural Crop Advisor.
