The improvement in the local teams is fantastic. The Series is great for the amateur players and great for the professionals as well." McMahon said that he feels the greatest accomplishment Df the Challenge Series thus far is that three of the players From last year's Blizzard II squad have now moved up to join the Blizzard first team. "The beauty of the Blizzard playing so many tough games against the local all-star teams is that by improving the reserve players, the players on the Blizzard first team have to stay sharp because they know that there is a youngster right behind them waiting to take their place." McMahon said that the Blizzard II Challenge matches are often the high point of an amateur soccer association's entire season, and as such, give players who otherwise PLEASE TAKE A NUMBER The popularity of the Vz YEARLY SALE at MURRAY JOHNSTON'S MEN'S WEAR AT 8 SIMCOE STREET NORTH almost makes us consider that option. Under Toal, the Blizzard II has gradually become more of a development team than an actual first team reserve squad. In this way, the Blizzard organization is constantly blessed by an excellent pool of developing talent. McMahon's hope for the Challenge Series '84 is that another player will follow in the footsteps of Bill Johnson. Johnson, 20, is the only player to have successfully made the jump from the local select team to the Blizzard II. "One year he played against us on the Hamilton and Dundas select teams, and the next year he was playing with us," said McMahon. Helping young Canadian soccer players like Bill Johnson come closer to reaching their potential is what the Molson Challenge Series '84 is all about. ®gSIiS|s fOBt 815 ' WATCH YOUR CAMPFIRES AND SMOKINO MATERIALS I Sidewalk Sale Computer Package Special More Than Fun and Games TRS-80 Color Computer 16K Extended Basic Includes: Data Cassette Joysticks Plus 310 Quality Programs Educational -- Games -- Business 3 Days Only -- July 19, 20, 21 Special Package Price $299. 95 Zaxxon Computer Game Play Offs Saturday Morning Only -- July 21st 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Trophies for best scores -- Plus valuable prizes AUTHORIZED DEALER: r Radio /hack Bowmanville Audio-Vision 20 King St. W.
