Dr. and Mrs. (Dr.) Dale Taylor and daughter Ashley, Toronto, were Sunday afternoon afternoon visitors with his grandparents, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor. Mrs. Carl Kimmett and family, Lindsay, Mrs. Carol Bailey and Tim were last Thursday guests of Mrs. E. Billings and celebrated Mrs. Dorothy Bailey's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. 0. Challice were last Wednesday dinner guests of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Warren, Thornhill. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Sears and family, Fraserwood, Manitoba Manitoba are spending holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Harris, Kirby. Miss Anita Fulford, Meaford is spending a week with her grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. Lawrence Harris, Kirby. A very large crowd was in attendance at the annual Tamblyn family picnic, held on Saturday, July 14, in Orono Park. Guests were present from as far away as Salt Lake, Utah, U.S.A., Rochester, Sudbury etc. Very excellent musical entertainment supplied by Mr. Glenn Tamblyn, electric organ and Carlos Tamblyn on cornet. Mr. and Mrs. Carman White, Mr. and Mrs. James Lowery, Kirby, Mr. Alvin Yeo, Orono and Mrs. Clara Nesbitt, Bowmanville supplied musical entertainment at Parkwood, Oshawa, on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Denise Warren (Challice) was entertained to a baby shower on Friday afternoon last, by her girl friends, Miss Bonnie Rahm and Mrs. Brenda Cameron, Newcastle. Orono United Church News Orono United Church welcomed welcomed Mr. Frank Stapleton and family to the Sunday morning service. A good crowd was in attendance from Newcastle, Port Hope and Kirby. Frank gave an excellent excellent address "If Jesus Came - What Then?" and commenced with the favorite poem "If Jesus Came to Your House." He is a talented speaker and also gave us a personal testimony, testimony, of all his private blessings, blessings, his family, home etc. A very lovely choir anthem "To God Be the Glory" was enjoyed enjoyed by all present, with Joyce Gray on piano and her son David Gray on organ. Happy Birthday to Cheryl Reid who celebrated a birthday birthday Sunday, July 15. Summer Services - During July, Rev. Roland Hopkins, Bowmanville will be on call for any pastoral care necessary necessary in Orono, Kirby or Newcastle (623-4523). A Bd. of Trustees meeting was held on Monday evening, July 16, to complete plans for renovation of the new utility room and decorating the Minister's study.
