1 4 8 The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, August 22, 1984 HAYDON Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Slemon attended the Nestlelon Decoration Services on Sunday afternoon and had supper with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sadler. Mr. Tom Jones, Ms. Lorraine Mackin of Toronto and two sons Michael and John from Sudbury, who are holidaying in Toronto, were Sunday visitors and stayed for supper. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones and Miss Cora Degeer were Tuesday afternoon callers with Mr. and Mrs. Art Trewin and had a lovely visit with Mrs. David Malcolm who is holidaying with them. Mr. and Mrs. Art Trewin and Paul and Mrs. Malcolm visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Loveridge and Charles, Tyrone, and enjoyed their visit with Michael and Alexandrea Badard who were on their way to a cottage at Madoc. Friday Mr. and Mrs. Will Trewin of Oshawa and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Trewin and granddaughter Kelly of Enniskillen were supper guests of Art and June Trewin, Paul and Mrs. Malcolm. Mrs. Dorie Christensen and Mrs. June Trewin were recent callers with Mrs. Alice Thompson of Bowmanville. Mrs. Ann Paterson enjoyed her jaunt through Honest Ed's on that hot, hot Monday last week. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Paterson accompanied Mr. and Mrs. William Douglas of Oshawa to Bolton last Wednesday to visit with his brother. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Paterson, Paterson, Oshawa were callers with his brother Roy and Ann on Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ian Graham and boys were weekend visitors visitors with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Howard at View Lake and I hear Darren Graham celebrated his tenth birthday while there. So belated belated Happy Birthday Darren and be careful of those B's. Oh yes and we wish a very Happy Thirteenth Wedding Anniversary to Ian and Cheryl Graham for August 21st and we hope thirteen is lucky. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Lloyd and girls drove Grampa Pickles to the airport Wednesday Wednesday evening at Toronto for his departure to England. On Tuesday, Mrs. Gisela Rufke of Pontypool and Mrs. Chris Symon, Rochester, New York, who is visiting with the Rufkes were visitors with Dick and Val Lloyd. While on a shopping spree before she left to pick up hubby on a Saturday evening, Mrs. C. Kennedy had the tough luck to have car trouble and expresses her thanks to Mike Laverty for the help he gave her. Miss Brandee Kennedy reports she had a really good time at Camp Samac with the Tyrone Brownie Pack. Mrs. Norma Kennedy had coffee with Mrs. S. Laverty last Sunday morning. On Friday Nick Kennedy went camping for four days at Pilgrim's Rest with Paul and Chris Cornish of Newcastle. ' And Brandee Kennedy was on an overnight camping spree with Angee and Keri Brown at their home. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. George Bowen, Angee and friend Joe and Joe Jr. of Bowmanville were callers of the Kennedy's and left Joe Jr. with them for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kennedy and Brandee visited with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Campbell of Orono and Norma visited briefly with Mrs. Sandra Cornish and Mrs. Pruner of Newcastle. Then on Sunday evening they were entertained to a dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Ron Mayer and Kevin. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Laverty, Ajax visited with their son Mike and Sylvia and family Saturday evening. On Sunday Mrs. Sylvia Laverty visited with her sister, Mrs. Sheila Dill of NEWS Whitby and enjoyed their games of Bingo. Master Adam Millson spent Thursday night at Mr. and Mrs. Les Goble's at Bethany and on Friday Johnny Goble spent the day with Adam at his home. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Millson and boys had Sunday dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mill- son celebrating Alfred's birthday - we're late again but hope you had a great birthday. Congratulations. Sunday evening Cindy, Adam and Andrew Millson accompanied Alfred and Peggy Millson and visited with Mr. and Mrs. John McKeen of Garden Hill while Steve Millson and Blair Vanyke went fishing. Miss Marlene Parson of Belleville is holidaying with the Buttery's. The Jr. Farmer's Car Rally was held on Sunday and they then returned to Kay and Dave Buttery's for a corn roast and a barbecue. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hamer of Dubuque, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Don Yeo, Tom, Tricia and Peter of Bowmanville and Gramma Buttery were Tuesday luncheon guests with Kay and Dave Buttery. Mrs. Kay Buttery will be attending a baby shower for Mrs. Linda Theriault, Maple Grove at the home of Mrs. Laura Philips at Bowmanville. Bowmanville. Mrs. Keith Millar of Sunderland Sunderland visited at the B. Cochrane's Tuesday and Wednesday with Cindy and Kathy while Mr. and Mrs. Brent Cochrane helped with Brent's Grandmother's sale at Wellington. Little Miss Sadie Graham is spending a few days with her grandparents, Ross and Jean Ashton. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Mayer and Kevin enjoyed two weeks of holidays - spending fine days canoeing in the New Leskard area, and the remainder remainder of their time near Cornwall. Last Friday Jan and Kevin Mayer, Val, Sarah and Nicola Lloyd went driving down all the sideroads toward the beaches between the Bowmanville Bowmanville east area to Port Hope and say there are many nice little villages and some lovely scenery. On Sunday the Mayers invited invited Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kennedy and Brandee for a barbecue supper. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Millson arrived back home last Thursday having spent three weeks visiting Alf's first cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Harness at Glen Ewen, Saskatchewan, and just before leaving for home they, attended attended Uncle Roy Harness' ninety-third birthday party - a nice trip, a good time, and nice to be back home. This Sunday they attended the bridal shower for Brian Topple's bride-to-be. Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. A. Millson visited with Mr. and Mrs. John McKeen at Garden Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Blackburn, Blackburn, and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Blackburn and Wendy attended attended the Foley Picnic on Sunday that was held at Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cryder- man's home on Base Line. Mrs. Dorothy Adams of Oshawa spent Sunday with John and Diane Adams and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ernie (Liz) Adams, Blackstock and Mr. and Mrs. Bob (Mona) White of Blackstock were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. J. Adams and family. Mrs. Carol Lowery, Toronto visited with her sister Diane Adams on Monday and Mrs. Sylvia Laverty was also a Monday morning caller. On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Blackburn and Mr. Farewell Blackburn, Salem and Mrs. Violet Osborne, Bowmanville drove to Rock- ton to tour through the African Safari and called on friends at Milton on the way home.
