Rutherford conducted the service. service. Mr. Ronald Neun was the guest speaker for our charge but felt that he would rather not take three services so we had Rev. Rutherford. He spoke on sharing the wealth of the Americas with the third world countries. He went on to say that we should not judge others nor condemn others, but we should give to the needy and God will give back to you. Forgive others and you will be forgiven. He spoke of the rich man, a Jewish leader who asked what must he do to receive eternal life? Jesus said to follow the ten commandments. commandments. The man said he had followed all the commandments. commandments. Then Jesus said to sell all his goods and give the money to the poor. Jesus saw this made the man sad and He answered it is much harder for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. Rev. Rutherford explained that the walled cities of that time had low arched openings much like the eye of a needle and merchants had to unload their camels and make them kneel down and be dragged and pushed through and then reloaded again. One way of protecting their cities as no enemy could crash through such an opening on a surprise attack. We should certainly try to live as Jesus taught. Mr. M. Walker, and Mr. A. Peacock took up the offering and Mr. Banister was at the door. Ventures in Missions collection was taken, the first for 1985.
