Have heard several flocks of wild geese, heading north over recent weeks, but actually saw my first flock this morning. morning. The Miracle of Migration is always a welcome sign of spring. Spring flowers are certainly very early as hepaticas, blood root and dogtooth dogtooth violets are already in full bloom in the woods! Kendal There were lots of new and old faces around this weekend, all in town for Eddie and Helen Couroux's fortieth wedding anniversary. A great time was had by all who came to wish them the best and many more years of happiness to come. It's that time of year again when we have to keep an eye on fences and farm gates broken down and left open by fishermen, most of whom become blind and-or can't read. I never used to mind these jokers but over the years after some unpleasant instances, we found it best to verbally let them know they're not wanted - garbage, broken beer bottles and empty food cans do not endear these types to me. It's, too bad because most don't deserve to be painted with the same brush - but how do you tell? The season is getting in full swing now with the extra daylight, daylight, bet there are lots of sore muscles with all that raking and tearing around, beating out grass fires. This brave soul never starts a cleanup bonfire because with my luck, I'd probably burn the woods down. I was kind of glad when they made it a no-no to burn outside, 1 can at least stare my better half in the eye when he jeers at me and my chicken reaction to burning out the dead grass, not that it slows him down, but at least I have the pleasure of knowing I'm right and lie's wrong, if and when he ever burns down the woods, the house, the township township or whatever, Prices effective thru Saturday, May 4th, 1985.
