Mrs. Audrie Brown who is currently cavorting around in Scotland visiting Jean and Bob Magee of Elgin and others in and outlaws of hers, is expected home this week. More details soon. Church attendance was down somewhat on Sunday. Neglected to mention in earlier news budget that two lovely pots of yellow mums have been placed in the church in memory of a benefactress benefactress to our church and former resident of our community, community, Miss Emma Headers. Emma, though never a mother, was a "Mother Superior" Superior" to all our Yelverton community's community's young people and focal gathering point at her residence where the welcome mat was always out. Among the small turnout were several visitors including a "Mr. Ed" - not the four footed one of T.V. fame, but rather the Mr. Ed (last name unknown), who was recently present with Jim and Annette Rodley at the U.C.W. Korean night dinner. Mr. Ed, currently of Peterborough, Peterborough, expects to return to Korea in not too distant future. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Gundry of Barrie spent the weekend with Brenda and Terry Malcolm Malcolm and family. Miss Tara Malcolm was honored by her family on the occasion of her ninth birthday this week. Tara is currently sporting her first set of earrings as a special momento of the occasion. Brenda assures us that nine years ago the weather was even less acceptable than this week's frigid atmosphere, for there were snow flurries on that occasion. We have all witnessed many an "Odd Couple" not to mention mention many more couples that were odd. Our latest version of the former were noticed on Sunday a.m. going on a matutinal matutinal constitutional through the adjacent fields. The unlikely unlikely combination was a Collie Collie dog ambling along with a half grown white goat - no "kidding." After their jogging exercise up the road and back, they retraced their steps back through the same holes in the fence and homeward bound we presume. The most amusing aspect of the whole parade was the dog looking around behind him and waiting for his companion to catch up with him. This was one ensemble Nikki, our Doberman, just couldn't fathom, so tried to ignore their infringing on his territorial rights. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Baker and family were visitors this weekend with the Art Rowans and Ralph and Linda Pfoh's. Master Kendal accompanied Grandpa Art to church in an effort to keep him out of trouble. Welcome home to Mrs. Dil- ling of Cadmus who returned recently from wintering in Florida. Likewise, to our little humming birds who returned this week to our liquid feeder here at Malconia. Congratulations to two adjacent adjacent M.P.P.'s who have been honored with cabinet posts in the new Miller "Plaid jacket" cabinet. Mr. Ross Stevenson won the prestigious Agriculture Portfolio and Mr. Sam Cureatz as Minister without without a Briefcase. They may also go into history as Ministers Ministers with the briefest tenure of office in the tentative suggestion suggestion of Bob Rae's N.D.P.'ers and Dave Peterson's Peterson's liberals gang up on them and decide to he temporary bedfellows. Mr. Rae will probably probably benefit from the earlier history lesson and make a minority government work. History has demonstrated that minority governments are quite capable of being very effective and can with mutual co-operation provide some very good legislation for the province as a whole viz-a-viz their own parties special interest and committments. Birthday party was held this weekend at the home of Mrs, Hazel Gray in honor of her son, Bill's 112nd birthday, An evening of fireworks combined combined with a marshmallow roast for the children coupled with the co-operation of the. weatherman provided an en- Joynblcd evening for the tit! neighbors and friends who assembled assembled for the Imppy occasion, occasion, Belated happy birthday Bill!
