Youngsters Enjoy Teddy Bear Picnic at Bowmanville Library Blackstock Fair OH August 23rd The 121st Annual Blackstock Fait is fast approaching. Plans are being finalized for a full day of activities, Aug. 23rd, starting at 9:30 a.m. and continuing all day long. When you first arrive at the fairgrounds, take a tour through the buildings and view the exhibits of culinary, homecraft and : flower sections children's exhibits, the grains and vegetable displays, along with the large displays of commercial exhibits and booths, which expand out onto the fairgrounds in the inner field area. Old MacDonald's Farm will be located in the arena. Stop and pet the animals. The directors in charge of this attraction always put a great deal of effort into this which is enjoyed by young and old. The horseshow, with light and heavy horse classes along with saddle classes, begins at 10:30 and continues throughout throughout the day. Hoskin Stables, a local riding stable, will per form their musical ride in front of the grandstand. This precision riding to music is sure to get the audience's attention. At 11 o'clock the colourful parade, after travelling down the main street of Blackstock, will arrive at the grounds. Immediately following the parade's arrival, Betty Lester, OSSA, will officially open the fair. From this point on, the fair is in full swing. The midway with its rides and games of chance will be operating. Rainbow the clown will be performing and the cattle show, with keen competition competition of area farmers, will be commencing.
