Daughter of Silas and Bertie Williams, she was married December 25th, 1925, to the late Edwin M. Wood. A resident of Bowmanville, at 31 Ontario Street for approximately seven years, she had previously resided at 21 Wellington Street. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Bowmanville. Mrs. Wood was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge, Past Grand, and pianist for over 20 years. She was always available for any function to play piano and taught music for several years around Hampton, Solina and the Bowmanville area. Surviving are her family, Murray of Bowmanville, Keith of Mississauga and Doreen (Jackson) of Coral City, Miami, Florida. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Morris Funeral Chapel with the Reverend E. Schamerhorn officiating. Mrs. J. Albert Cole presided at the chapel area. Pallbearers were Messrs. Michael and John Wood, Paul Hewart, Perry Reitmeuler, Gord Brethour and Wayne Speiring. Interment Hampton Cemetery. Yelverton [Intended for last week] Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stinson spent the past week of their honeymoon in Moncton New Brunswick visiting Nancy's Dad while there, as well as other relatives, then returning home by train on Saturday. Belated congratulations to Reeve Bob Brown and Alice Brown of Pontypool on the recent observation of their fortieth Wedding Anniversary. Anniversary. Manvers Council are to be commended on their initiative in setting up a meeting with Prime Minister Peterson to present their objections to the transfer of Manvers to the Durham East Electoral District. District. Perhaps it would help if they took along a Liberal or two!! However, we do wish them success in their mission. With all Manvers Twsp's interests, county and education etc. directed to the north, realignment to the Oshawa-Whitby area makes no sense whatever. Our faith in the process of democracy has been shattered with the dictatorial move. Blackstock Fair this year suffered from a surplus of preupation. It must be very disappointing and frustrating for those who have spent hours and days in preparation to see their efforts go down the drain as it were. However, most events were carried on apparently with a much smaller audience participation participation than usual. Ms. Mona Malcolm, with a collection of her former Waterloo girl friends - Kim Helmer from Sparta, Lois Harris from Toronto, Sheena from Kitchener spent a portion portion of the week end at Malcolm's and later attended a rock concert at Wonderland - the Eurythmies. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hurtig recently returned from a 3 week holiday in Europe, visiting relatives both in East and West Germany. Unfortunately, Unfortunately, Joe took ill in Germany and as soon as he returned home was taken to Oshawa General Hospital where he has been ever since. Hopefully, he will be able to return home this coming week. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Malcolm were overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Stun of Tavestock, this past week and attended the sale of quality registered swine put on by Thamesbend farms (Warren and Richard Stun proprietors). Reflecting the current high price of hogs, breeding stock sold at premium prices. Mr, and Mrs, Terry Malcolm and family are currently enjoying a weeks holiday at a cottage near Wasago Beach. Terry also attended a seminar at Notawasaga Inn. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lemar visited with their son Ken Lemar at his farm home in this community. Fall anniversaries will be the order of the month of September on the Janetvillc Charge. On, Sept. 7, Rev.
