The team includes Roger Swan, Sandy Brecon, Danny Lemon, Dennis Lemon, Robbie Large, Wayne Leach, A. Osmond, Doug McFeeters, Larry Trimble, Mike Dilling, David Wright, Clayton Campbell, Ron Webb, Alan Fice, Philip McDonald and Don Forsey. The Pirates were coached by A1 Webb and Lloyd Forsey. FLASHBACK -- 10 YEARS AGO -- The Mann Cup series will be played in Brampton between the Brampton Excelsiors and the New Westminister Sal- monbellies. Arnold Etcher has been named as one of the timekeepers for the game. ANNUAL TOURNEY -- The Bowmanville Lions Club are holding their annual baseball tournament on September September 13 and 14 at Memorial Park. Games begin at 9:00 a.m. and will run throughout the day. TERRY FOX TOURNEY -- On Saturday, September 20,1986 the annual Terry Fox tournament will take place at Memorial Park. This year the tournament will be sponsored by the Kinsmen Club and all proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. Games begin at 9:00 a.m. PLAYERS NEEDED -- The Bowmanville Non Contact Hockey League are looking for more players in the 25 years and over and the 35 years and over divisions. Any interested players should contact Jack Bergeron at 623- 3380 before 6:00 p.m. or at 623-9531 after 6:00 p.m. TORO TRYOUTS--The BMH A are beginning try-outs for all their hockey teams at Memorial Arena. Try-outs will be held September 15,16 and 17. There will be a $4.00 charge per tryout and boys and girls should bring their social insurance number and come dressed in full hockey equipment. MEETING--At 8:00 p.m. this çvening (Wednesday, September September 10,) the Hockey Mothers' meeting for the BMHL, will take place at the Fire Building in Court Room #2. JUNIOR C -- On Tuesday, September 16, at 8:00 p.m. the Junior "C" practices will begin for the Junior "C" group at the Bowmanville Arena. MIXED LOB BALL -- Beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Saturday, September 13, will be the mixed lob ball tournaments. tournaments. Games will run until about 5:00 p.m. on Sunday at Memorial Park. SEMI FINALS -- The semi finals for the men's and ladies' slowpitch and lob ball will continue through to September 16, 1986. September 17, 18 and 19 have been designated rain dates. The finals will begin Monday, September 22,1986. Mark Mapes. On Friday, September 5, at Soper Creek, Charlie's V-Plus slipped past Skylight Donuts 10-7 to win the PeeWee Bantom House League championship two games to none. The game was highlighted by a five run surge in the first inning by V-Plus. Greg Healey singled and sped around the bases in front of Gerritt Holmes walk and run and Jack Beatley's single and run. Tony Van Hoof scored on Geoff Noyes' R.B.I. line drive and Karl Wanderlich singled in Geoff. At that point, Jason Vacheresse shut down the V- PIus attack for two innings. Tony Van Hoof scored ahead of Karl Wanderlich's double in the fourth. Kevin Jay singled and was knocked in by Craig Archer in the fifth. Nicky Dennis doubled to lead off the sixth inning and scored on Greg Healey's single. Gerritt Holmes and Greg scored on Geoff Noyes' single. Meanwhile, Skylight Donuts valiantly staged a come back that only brilliant fielding by Tony Van Hoof could squelch in the final inning. Steve McCullough scored in the first and fourth. ' John-P^ul Ducxmalewski doubled and scored in the second. Paul Ruthard and Jason Derrick scored in the third ahead of Brad Vacheresse's single. Trevor Reinhardt doubled and scored on John-Paul's sacrifice sacrifice fly in the fifth. In the seventh, Skylight Donuts almost took the lead. Ian Aida singled and scored but Steve M. and Dean Boumhouer were left on base when Jason Vacheresse was robbed of a hit on the game's last out. On September 3, at Soper Creek, it was Charley's V-Plus who staged a comeback in the series first game. Down 7 to 2 in the third inning, V-Plus regrouped to overcome a io to 9 defeat in hte last inning and win 13 to 10. Gerritt Holmes doubled and Geoff Noyes singled to score in the second. Nicky Dennis doubled highlighted five runs in the fourth as Craig Archer, Greg White, Greg Healey and Tony Van Hoof also scored.
