Many thousands of boys have enjoyed the program program offered in each section. Until the past few years we have never hàd to turn anyone away. However, following following the trend of many organizations organizations in Ontario, in Canada, and in fact the World, the shortage of leaders is now our main concern, and in fàct if we don't get some new volunteers this week, we will have to turn away a large number of boys of all ages. West Durham District Scouting area covers from the lake up to Bethany and Ponty- pool, (Bethany being probably the oldest registered group in this District), around to Newtonville Newtonville in the east, and over to Courtice and Mitchells's Corners in the west. You probably live within minutes of the closest group. Because of the lack of leaders not every group is able to every section. There are very stringent ratio requirements laid down by Scouts Canada Headquarters. Although the program for all sections has changed over the years since B.P.'s day (B.P. being Our Founder) upgraded upgraded with the changing times, we still follow Lord Robert Baden-Powell's basic ideas. We still camp, hike, tie knots etc., but now. the boys can become proficient in corn- outers. aeronautics and seamanship seamanship Farm Sold Auction Sale Machinery, Household Furniture and Antiques The Property ol Marlon O'Brien.
