Mr. and Mrs. Walter Simpson Simpson of Oshawa visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Trim on Thursday Thursday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stark of Knoxville visited Thursday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stark. On Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Found of Little Britain were luncheon and afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Todd. Also visiting with Carl and Margaret on Thursday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Scott'of Port Hope. Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Entwisle of Newtonville visited on Friday Friday evening with Mr. John De Witt. Mr. Kenneth Farrow of Hamilton spent the weekend at home with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Farrow. The International Plowing Match was held last week at Stirling. On Sunday, they attended the 40th wedding anniversary party in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Forrester Forrester of Westport and held at the Green Shingles Hotel on Wolf Island. On Saturday evening, several couples attended a surprise birthday party in honor of Mr. Bruce Todd who was celebrating his 40th birthday birthday at his home. Happy Birthday, Bruce! Church services were held at Shiloh United on Sunday with a good attendance. Misses Cheryl and Angela Robinson assisted the organist Mrs. Mary Caswell with the playing of the hymns. SHILOH UCW MEETING On Tuesday evening September September 16th, Shiloh U.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. Dawn Brettell with 15 ladies present. President Sherrill Souch welcomed everyone back after our summer break and thanked Dawn for having us to her home. Everyone joined in singing the hymn 'Fight the Good Fight' led by Ada Hallowell. Mary-Lou Fonk gave the Bible reading followed by the devotional devotional 'Stumbling Blocks or Stepping Stones' and a prayer by Ellen Farrow. Happy Birthdays were sung to Ada Hallowell, Mary Caswell Caswell and Bernice Stark. Treasurer's report was read by Margaret Todd. A report was given of the Official Board meeting held at Shiloh United last week. Shiloh United Thanksgiving Anniversary service will be held on Sunday October 5th with Rev. Bryan Ransom the speaker and music by the Kirby United Choir. Our President mentioned a bus trip for November. Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday evening October 15th at the home of Mary Caswell and there will be a silent auction. The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction. Mary Caswell then conducted an unusual contest which was by Edna Dobson. A delicious lunch was served and Mary Caswell thanked Dawn Brettell for our interesting and enjoyable evening out. REALTY LTD.
