Randy Ellis opened the scoring at 1:13 and Brian Heard followed with Bowmanville's second goal which came 32 seconds later. The Hurricanes must have realized that they were in for a long night when Rob Schlechter and Chris Dreossi scored just 8 seconds apart at 3:32 and 3:40 respectively to give the Eagles a 4-0 advantage at this early stage On Thursday evening at the Sports Complex in Port Hope, the Bowmanville Cowan Junior C Eagles ended the Panthers' seven game winning streak by defeating them 9-5 in a game that was quite chippy at times. Sticks were up quite high in this skirmish against the boards at the south end of the arena, but nothing major developed with the referee keeping a close eye on the encounter.
