In Mrs. tenWesteneind's and in Mrs. Robinson's rooms parents are coming into their child's class. She thinks it's better that both parent and teacher discuss the progress because then she understands what they do and 'also understands' the'centres'. She also likes .thelact that she, can see her child work. According to her, her child is ' learning a lot. The other parent was Mrs. Heather Adair. She has a different opinion. She would rather have the teacher do the report cards. Anyway, she says her child is learning a lot and is having fun. Grade Five's Mexican Study by Tracy Moriarity Mrs. Pitt's class has been working on research skills, and is completing a project on Mexico. The students are researching their project information in the classroom and using library books Mrs. Pitt collected from Bowmanville Library, the Waverley library and travel agents. Each day' for two weeks groups of students worked in the library with Mrs. Anyan. The classroom and Library bulletin boards are filled with maps and pictures of Mexico, sombreros, a pinata and other Mexican souvenirs. On December 8, the students will share their projects with the class, and a special Mexican food tasting, party is being planned. Fifteen interested students in Grade. 3, and 4 met Mrs. Clement and Mrs. Pitt in the library. ! They learned computer skills and had an enjoyable time. The students learned how to load a program, how to care for the equipment and used the printer to make graphics. At the end of the five weeks, the students received a special certificate.
