Holds Pot Luck Luncheon By B. Jones Wednesday December 10th at 12:30 a.m. Tyrone UCW gathered at the Sunday School room for their meeting which was in the form of Pot buck Luncheon. ;;; We were treated to a musical interlude " by Jacqueline Vaneyk at the new organ and Elinor Brent at the piano playing Christmas carols. When the buffet was set up by Carol Southwell and Ann Pleasance we were asked to come and partake of the salads and then the ladies reset the tables with the hot dishes. The luncheon went like clock work and it was so good and so much. Everyone gathered in the church for a skit and the devotional prepared by the December group. The skit performed by Carol and Ann was called, ' "Christmas Morning - 2:30 a.m." and was of a Dad and Mom trying to get everything done before .the kids got up in the morning. Ann had a reading-"God Sent Us a Saviour" and "OCome All Ye Faithful", was sung. Carol read scripture v - Matthew 1 verses 18-25 and Luke 2 verses 2-20. The devotional "A Land For the Holy Child", was read and we sang "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks by Night". Then Carol read from onelof Joan Sutton's readings - "I Believe in Christmas, I Believe in Miracles". As Ann lit the candles, Carol read "Three Lighted Candles" and closed with prayer. ' January meeting will be at Edna Philips home and will be omBible Christian Church. Secretary Elsie Roy read a 'thankyou' card from Adrian and Phyllis Haines. President Earla Rundle thanked Ann and Carol for the great work they had done for our Christmas meeting on , the behalf of all members. News from Hamlet of Elizabeth ville Elizabethville Xmas concert is on the 21st, Garden Hill the 19th, both at 7:30. Mr. and Mrs. C. Mercer entertained Mr. and Mrs. E. Elliott, Oshawa, Mr. and Mrs. H. Quantrill, and Mr. and Mrs. Thickson on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. O. Mercer were sick with a cold. e ' Last weekend'Mr. and Mrs. J. Quantrill held a family party party as it was John's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Stenger (Michelle), Paul Quantrill from near Windsor along with Scott and Quantrill families attended.
