Orono enjoyed leads of 2-0 and 3-1 before their goalie was replaced after being injured midway in the second period. David Yellowlees was replaced in goal by Colin MacDonald for Bowmanville in this game and made an outstanding save late in the game to preserve the win, after being shakey earlier. After two rough starts, Chris Pot came to form. His first goal came off a perfect pass from Jason Franc. His second goal was from six feet out with Orono defenseman in goal. His third and fourth goals were from breakaways. Niki's goal was also off a breakaway, outskating the Orono defense, and slid it by the goalie. David Leppert, Jason Lange Stephen Tabb, Brent Stockman and Chris Steele also played well. P.S. Craig Sabine was in goal for A and R. Then on Dec. 14, Bowmanville went to Pickering Village arena to play Ajax (7 year olds) select team. They lost 2-1 in a close checking game. It was their first loss of the season. However, coach Glen MacDonald and his staff considered it a moral victory as the young players played as a team. Ajax took a 2-0 lead going into the third period. From then on it was Bowmanville taking command, scoring early in the third period, on a goal by Brent Stockman, and applying relentless pressure In the last two minutes of the game. Defensively, Gordon Coggins, Jason Lange, Niki Defreitas, and Colin MacDonald were solid while David Leppert, Chris Pot, Chris Steele, Jason Fraync and Stephen Tabb did their part on offense. David Yellowlees played a good game in goal, despite being ill.
