Larry and Dorothy Smith and Penny, and Bruce and Elaine Fish, . Lisa and Laura, all of Oshawa were Sunday guests with Mrs. Neta Fish and Calvin and Yvonne Holland and family of Blackstock. Christmas guests with Richard and Janice MacKenzie, Claire and ' Leslie of Nestleton were Dr. and ; Mrs. F. MacKenzie and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne MacKenzie and family family all of Toronto and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Ketchall of Bramalea and Ralph and Leona Sadler of Nestleton. ■ Edgar and Anne Emerson of Nestleton "hosted" their family for ; Christmas Day with 17 members on hand from different parts of Canada to enjoy the festive occasion. Later in the day, they were dinner guests with Alan and Eleanor Cawker, family and friends for a 1 delicious repast. Bronwyn, Mark Cawker and friend Cindy Sinclair and Christie Cawker and friend Andrew Birney. A son and daughter wer< unable to attend! On Sunday, Mrs. Neta Fish ? Calvin and Yvonne Holland, Chad Craig and Alanna Dawn ol Blackstock, hosted a lovely Christmas celebration for the fami ly. Those present included- Jim anc Audrey Leishman, Jamie, Michae and William of Reaboro, Mrs Marlene Bannister and friend Roy and the family, Vicki, Karen, Keith and Rhonda Bannister, and daughter Nicole, all from Peterborough. Peterborough. Those present for the occasion occasion enjoyed the delicious meal ... and the family get-together very much! Court Lady Snowbird L1930 The Court Lady Snowbird L193C held their Christmas party at the home of Anne Lee, Yelverton. After a brief business meeting ... the boxes of Cheer were packed for the shut-ins, etc. A pleasant hour oi fellowship over refreshments before heading home! Afternoon U.C.W Christmas Meeting Held at the country home of Mabel Cawker, the president Jean Williams opened the meeting with a poem entitled "Christmas Spirit" and a cordial welcome to all. Jean presented a brief devotional, opening opening with hymn "As With Gladness Men Of Old" followed by Scripture from Luke 2. Hie meditation was excellent excellent with theme "Rejoicing at Christmas" closing with hymn "Silent Night." During business minutes were approved approved as read by acting Sec'y Helen Vine. Many thank you notes were rec'd from folks who had been remembered when ill. The Treasurer Neta Fish gave a satisfactory financial statement. A minute silence ... and an appropriate appropriate poem was read by the president in memory of the late Doris Rohrer ... a very fine member! The Unit provided cookies and beverage after the Sunday School concert on Sunday evening, Dec. 21st. Fifteen boxes of Cheer were packed at the home of Mabel Cawker and delivered before Christmas by the members to the recipients. The next regular meeting is to be held at the home of Jean Williams, Jan. 13th at 1:30 p.m. A lovely programme with each member reading a Christmas poem or thought, was of interest, and an exchange of gifts were distributed. A South Korea Human Rights Silver Pin... a project of the U.C.W.... was presented to Ruth Davidge by Mabel Cawker... a faithful worker generous with her time and talents in Nestleton U.C.W. and very much appreciated. Ruth is now living in Port Perry'and we miss her-;., but hope she will be back to see us on special occasions at least! The meeting closed with Benediction. Benediction. Refreshments were served by Neta Fish and the hostess. An afternoon afternoon of fellowship! Helen Vine voiced voiced the appreciation. Notice Keeping in mind the New Year's Eve dance, Wed. Dec. 31st, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Nestleton Community Community Centre. Music by Irwin Smith. Buffet included and party favours. Meeting of Interest A meeting of interest and concern to parents is scheduled to be held in Casearea Community Centre on Jan. 29th at 7:30 p.m. This is an "Outreach Program" with Donna M. Harris in charge... who is from the Outreach Child Abuse ... Prevention and Education Centre in Oshawa, speaking on the subject... a parents only, information meeting.
