After being "Bride's Maids" 3 times in the month of November, the 3-day tournament with the discipline and hustle that shone through earlier this season. After talking with several parents and spectators, spectators, I would have to give one big "Attaboy" to the entire entire team because they all performed well. Game 1 Dec. 26 Bowmanville Bowmanville Arena Toros vs Ajax-Pickering The Toros started the tournament off with a convincing convincing win over Ajax-Pickering. Ajax-Pickering. Dean Baumhauer started the scoring in the first period with the assist going to "Dazzling" Doug Lever. In the second period, Mr. Lever scored from Todd Johnston then that perfect combination of Steve Smith and Shane Armstrong teamed up with Steve getting getting the marker. In the third, Dean Baumhauer scored his second second of the day from Tony Van Hoof and, you guessed it folks, Mr. Lever. It was a fine effort by all. Final score Toros 4 Ajax- Pickering 0 Game 2 Dec. 27 Darlington Darlington Arena Toros vs Humber Valley Once again, if you play the game and stay out of the penalty box, chances are you will win, and that's just what the bantams did in this rough match with Humber Valley. Toros' scorers were Greg Healey who blasted a shot past the Humber Valley goaltender in the first. Special "Thanks" to Dean Baumhauer for setting up the play. In the second period, Neil Taylor scored a beautiful goal on a perfect pass play from Nick Dennis and Jeff Rohr. Then Greg Goode decided decided it was his turn, and with some help from Dean Baumhauer and Jeff Rohr, found his mark. Final score Toros 3 Humber Valley 0 Game 3 Dec. 27 Darlington Darlington Arena Toros vs Saltfleet One thing I've noticed this year is the ability of the Bantams to adjust their game style. On a few occasions occasions the opposition has come out very rough then had to change their game plan when the "Rough Stuff' didn't work, and that's what happened in this game.- Saltfleet came out in the first throwing their weight around, but were taken by surprise when the Toros gave it right back to them. In the second, Saltfleet decided to try and skate and shoot but that's what our boys do best and the outcome outcome was inevitable. Toros' shooters were Dean Baumhauer from Todd Johnston, Greg Healey from Tony Van Hoof, Jeff Reynolds from Nick Dennis and Tony Van Hoof, and finally Shane Armstrong from Dean Baumhauer and Paul Wood- lock. Championship Game Dec. 28 Darlington Arena Toros vs Belleville The "mettle" of a team is decided upon what it does when it loses its momentum during a game, and tonight the boys, and coaches, gave us a demonstration. What a show! The Toros scored 6 unanswered unanswered goals in the first 2 periods before the roof started to cave in. Belleville ended the second by scoring scoring their first of the night. That led to 3 more Belleville Belleville goals in the third before before Toros • coach Fred Brown called a "Fire-side Chat" with the boys. Whatever Whatever coach Brown said certainly certainly "Warmed" up the boys because they fought back and held on to win 7 to 5. Toros scorers were Steve Smith with 2 goals and 2 assists, assists, Jeff Rohr also picked up 2 goals and 1 assist, next came Shane Armstrong with 1 goal and 2 assists, other singles went to Nick Dennis and Dean Baumhauer. Also picking up assists were Tony Van Hoof with 2, Todd Johnston, Greg Healey, Paul Woodlock, Neil Taylor, all picking up assists as well. Final score Toros 7 Belleville Belleville 5 Congratulations to the entire entire team. Thanks for your card fellas. It was rough missing this one. Team GW GL GT GF GA Pts.
