The popular event features features outdoor fun for the youngest members of the Scouting organization who bundled up in their warmest warmest outfits to head out and tackle the chills of winter on Saturday, January 17. This year's event was entitled, entitled, "Winter Wizards" and represented the theme of magic. Many of the events were based on this title and carried names such as: Pull the Beaver out of the Hat (tug-o-war); Magic Shadows (snow painting) and Magic Carpet Rides (tobogganing). There was also dogsledding and winter soccer. The event began at 10:00 a.m. with the opening cere monies. To prepare for me day's "magical" themes, Beaver Leader Bob Barrett (Hawkeye) called into the sky for the magic spirits. In response, several firecrackers firecrackers were let off and the children's excitement grew. They were ready for the day. It was a day of enjoyment for the Beavers, leaders and the parents who decided to bundle up and join in the fun.
