i al)c (tanniunn BUilesmnn SECTION TWO WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10, 1987 ^^ Sea Cadets Hold Annual Inspection On Sunday afternoon at the Newcastle Arena, the 279 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps of Bowmanville held its 6th annual inspection. Here, the Reviewing Officer, Judge E.R. Lovekin is informed by P.O. 1 Andrew Scott that the Corps is ready for General Salute. This year's inspection featured music by the Bowmanville Corps' own band led by Melanie Brooks. Later, they played and demonstrated their skill for the visitors. During the afternoon, several from the community participated in the program. The Rev. N.E. Schamerhorn said prayers, Acting Mayor Councillor Ann Cowman brought greetings from the town, Judge Lovekin congratulated the Corps on their performance and Commanding Officer Lt. (N)D. G. Foster CD thanked Judge Lovekin for participating. Awards were presented to Most Outstanding Jr. NCO Scott Cole, Most Outstanding Sr. NCO Andrew Scott, Most Improved Cadet Melanie Brooks and Best Cadet of Year Bob Pearce. Area Cadet Officer Capt. J.P. Laçasse CD of CFB Trenton was a special guest. One corps member lies on stretcher after receiving First Aid treatment from his colleagues who are demonstrating their training during inspection. Knot tying is part of the training received by Sea Cadets and the four cadets at right are getting ready to show what they have learned to the Reviewing Officer.
