Shiloh U.C.W. Meeting On Wednesday evening, June 17th, the ladies of Shiloh U.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. Margaret Todd. Fourteen Fourteen ladies were present. Vice-President Ruth Robinson welcomed everyone and thanked Marg on our behalf. Everyone said the Lord's Prayer and joined in singing the hymn "This is My Father's | World." Bernice gave the Bible reading and Ellen Farrow the dèvotional on "Patience.",. Reports were given by Sandra Goorbarry and Margaret Todd. One thank you card was read. The church roof has been painted and new eave troughs put up. Now the outside of the church will be painted. Mary Caswell showed us the new green hymn books and some red hymn books with music will be ordered. There will be no meetings during the months of July and August for holidays. A gift will be bought for the two Kendal boys that are in the Burn Unit at Wellesley Hospital in Toronto. A committee was appointed to be in charge of the 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration celebration to be held on Sunday afternoon, September 27th, at .the Oddfellows Hall in Orono. Meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction. Mary Caswell asked everyone everyone to tell their most embarrassing embarrassing moment which made for lots of laughs and fun. The prize was won by Jenny Rypstra. We then enjoyed lunch and a visit over a cup of tea. Crime Stoppers Crime Stoppers and the Durham Regional Police are asking for the Public's help in solving a Hit and Run accident which occurred in Oshawa on Saturday, May 16th, 1987. At about 12:35 in the morning morning a car was stopped on a red light on Bond Street at MacMillan. As the car drove away on the green light it was rear ended causing about $8,000. damage. The vehicle responsible took off. There were no injuries. The wanted vehicle is described as a Brown Chev Impala or similar car possibly a 1978 Model. It had extensive damage damage to the front including a 'cracked windshield. The driver was 25/ 35 years with shoulder length brown hair and a moustache.
