A recent news release adds that the company has appointed Donald Tefft, P.Eng., as Regional Landfill Manager. Manager. But when the Centre for Individual Individual Studies opens its doors in Bowmanvillc this fall, persons who wish to complete their education will have a second chance to do so. The Bowmanvillc campus is one of four Individual Study campuses the Northumberland Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education has opened over the past two years. The centre offers a wide range of general education education programs, all satisfying satisfying the Ministry of Education's Education's guidelines for a grade 12 diploma. The Centre will serve the needs of adults who, for a variety of reasons, cannot attend a regular secondary high school. Eva Nichols, the co-operative education officer for the program, outlined outlined the type of individuals individuals the program is geared towards. "Anybody who wants to complete their grade 12 is a candidate for our program. The only requirements are that they be over 16 years old and also pass our trial period of two weeks to see that they fit into the lifestyle lifestyle of the school," Ms. Nichols explained. "The programs are based on a one-on-one approach between the teacher and the student. The student makes his own schedule for meetings with the advisor. This may mean once a week or five times a week." said Ms. Nichols. This type of education is ideal for employed people and those with other commitments commitments such as families. Or there are others who may be able to attend regular high school but prefer not to. "Some of our younger students, students, in their 20's, really don't want to be sitting in a class with little kiddies and prefer the less restricted environment of our program. program.
