LETTER TO THE EDITOR Dear John: Well we are into another unnecessary election coming only two years after the last one, costing taxpayers more that 50 million to prove the N.D.P. has been running the province for the last two years. The 50 million should have been used to reduce property taxes in the areas that are under market value assessment. The present education education tax on market value assessment is the most unfair unfair tax system ever established established by a provincial government government and should be abolished abolished immediately and replaced replaced with a tax on income and the ability to pay as recommended recommended in the 1985 Ian McDonald Comission Re- TRINITY UNITED CHURCH Church and Division Streets Bowmanville, Ontario Church Phone Office Phone 623-3912 623-3138 Ministers: Rev. With just one game to play, "DRIVE-IN FOR CHRIST" FAMILY FILM Sat., Sept. 5th at DUSK (8:30 p.m.) at LIBERTY PENTECOSTAL CHURCH (Parking Lot) Cor. Martin Rd. and Hwy. #2 Bowmanville, Ont. Phone: 623-5182 Mark IV Pictures against Pickering Village, the team has won 12, tied 1, and lost just 4 games. A victory on Thursday will confirm GRAHAM'S in third place. The team put themselves into third witn two excellent performances in their last two games. On August 13, in one, of, the best soccer games this year they came from behind behind to defeat Ajax Bums Mortson by the score of 4-3. GRAHAM S took an early 1 goal lead but by the half Ajax had erased that and had taken taken a 2-1 lead. Our girls came out flying in the second half and quickly tied the score. Unfortunately so did Ajax and they soon regained their 1 goal lead. Slowly GRAHAM'S GRAHAM'S increased the pressure pressure and if not for the strong work of the Ajax Keeper would have won the game going away. As it was, the team finally took the lead with just a little over 7 minutes minutes remaining. They then put forth a strong defensive effort to thwart the Ajax attempts attempts to tie the game. As has been the case with most of our games this summer, Graham's played the game short players. Congratulations Congratulations must be given to Jessica Jessica Knoop, Sarah Couch, Sharon McAleese, Christine Kiely, Daelane Judd, Alyssa McLennan, Kim Bates, Tracy Tracy Michaud and Jessica Hull. Sarah Couch with 3 goals and Kim Bates with 1 were GRAHAM'S goal scor ers, while Kim and Tracey Michaud did and excellent job in goal. On August 20, the team travelled to Whitby to take on Whitby Canadian Tire in a game they had to win if they hoped to keep third place. The girl's responded with.a good team effort and came away with a 4-0 victory. victory. The goal scoring in this game was handled by Sarah Couch with-2, Kim Bates with 1, and Kathy Clements with 1. The shutout was shared by Tracy Michaud and Kim Bates. This was our first game in awhile with a sub as Allison Morris, Jessica Hull, Carolyn Watters, Tracy Tracy Michaud, Kim Bates, Alyssa McLennan, Daelane Judd, Christine Kiely, Sharon Sharon M.cAleese, Sarah Couch, Kathy Clements and Jessica Knoop. With their season winding winding down, GRAHAM'S IGA is busy preparing for the Ç ost season cup competition. hat competition pits them against the first and second place teams in the league. However, before they get there they have one league game left against Pickering Village on August 27,1987. Good luck GRAHAM'S Call 623-5577 for Flowers There is a clear choice in Durham East What party in Ontario says the same things during an election that it says at Queen's Park?
