Here, Secretary Alan Plummer and President Gary Jeffery stand behind their display. Other members of the host club are Larry O'Connor, Ron Radcliffe, Dave Clements, Rob Clements, Sam Hitchins and Frank Kramer. Harry Allin, a local oldtimer in the model railroad field, took Dart in the show on October 24th and brought along one of his early locomotives operated by steam. Residents Wish Retiring M.P. Well Lockhart School News Yelverton News by H. Malcolm Intended for last week. Following a few days of rainy weather and high winds, the deciduous deciduous split-leaf maples that hold our domicile within the tentacles of their embrace, have acquired their annual symptoms of arborial psoriasis psoriasis and have shed or are in the process of shedding their leafy dandruff to provide a crispy crunchy mat around the premises which daily rearranges rearranges itself as the vager- ies of the wind decide. Com leaves caught by wind eddies curlicue their way: across the highways and bi- ways like tiny undulating serpents. The raucous blue jays reclaim the fields and forests from our recently departed departed summer feathered tourists who have flown the coop so to speak for a less harsh climate south of the border; a sort of free trade without restrictions that ignores ignores the 49th parallel and ACCIDENT OR TRAFFIC TICKET? Sorry to report that one of Yelverton's "leading ladies" was unexpectedly admitted to Port Perry Hospital on Monday of this week and has been retained there for treatment and observation for what has been diag- nossed as a gall-bladder infection. infection. We refer to Mrs. Howard Howard (Eileen) Malcolm who took suddenly ill Monday evening and was rushed to hospital. Unfortunately, as well as being hospitalized, it was necessary to cancel their trip to Australia which they were scheduled to leave on Friday afternoon. They were to meet their daughter Candy Candy who has been there on business the past two weeks and they were planning on spending one week of their three week holiday together. Since then Candy has cut her, holiday short and returned home. She is spending a few days here before returning to work. We wish Eileen a speedy recovery and hope a future operation will be unnecessary unnecessary to correct her health problem. The Malcolm Malcolm family were able to share Jeremy's birthday celebration celebration with Eileen in the hospital's visiting lounge on Saturday. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Lawrence wish them a happy retirement retirement from political life after almost 30 years of involvement involvement in the political arena both provincially and federally. federally. Perhaps he could get a job reclaiming the provincial Conservative party which is in dire need oi a speedy rejuvenation rejuvenation and could certainly use his political savvy in the process-perhaps as a $1.00 a year man. On Saturday evening a number from our community community attended the Jack Bailey memorial dance held in the Lindsay Armories-with the proceeds going to Mr. Bailey's Bailey's wife and young family. The Armouries were filled to capacity (well over 500 in attendance) attendance) to dance to music supplied by the; Thunder Road Band and other visiting visiting artists. For the benefit of the non dancing crowd Mr. Bailey died suddenly of a heart attack recently at the age of 49, leaving a wife and a young family. He was well known throughout the area for his musical abilities both composer and player. ' Orono Lockhart School is getting ready for Hallowe'en. Hallowe'en.
