Time" Cloggers performed in 13 thowi at the Royal Winter Fair in the Coliseum, Exhibition Park, Toronto, over the past two weeks. Six shows were on the Chrysler stage in the East Mezzanine Upper Level and the other seven shows were on the Foodland Ontario Stage. Taking part in the dancing were members- Carol, Karen k Tracy Doyle, Nestleton, Pat k Danielle Millson k Barry Van Camp of Blackstock, Sheree Gagnon, Oshawa, and Darryl Linnington, Teacher k Choreographer, Scarborough. Scarborough. John Doyle was the capable M.C. for all the shows. Karen Knight and Olive Bedford of Sunderland were able to join the group for a couple of shows. "Step In Time" Cloggers, although mostly local people is an Oshawa based danced group. Earl and Darla Killingbeck, Blackstock, attended the Royal on Saturday, and Earl was able to take pictures of both shows ... some were taken amongst the beautiful flower displays on the main level. A very enjoyable, exciting few days for the Cloggers 1 Our congratulations to them! Evening UCW Unit Meeting Regenia Walker, Scugog Point, was the hostess for the Nov. UCW meeting of the Evening Unit. Many items of business were attended to, including a discussion regarding Operation Scugog Christmas boxes, a donation to Community Care and plans for the December meeting. After the minutes were read and approved, approved, the Roll Call "a favourite hymn" was answered. Kay Notman presented the worship using Remembrance Day and Peace as the theme. Betty Headon used a "craft session" session" for the program. Wright The U.U.W. sponsored our Annual Seniors Dinner on the 17th of November. Our sixty friends and former neighbors enjoyed a delicious roast beef dinner. Ulah Chambers our organist organist and choir leader played several selections as everyone gathered in the Church. Ulah also played and Shirley Pollard led us in some carol singing, then we were invited to the Sunday School room for dinner. Reverend David McKinnell asked the blessing. Our younger members served the dinner. We were then entertained by Wendy Mand singing in her beautiful voice, Renders Renders Messiah, "Come unto him". Elva Orchard than played two excellent piano solos, Chapel Chimes and Dixie's Land. Shirley Stainton read a ■: humorous reading re-; minding us Christmas is getting getting nearer. Wendy then pleased everyone with another song, "The Holy Boy". Joan Speakman then read a Christmas wish to all of us written by our late friend, Shirley Draper. The attractive attractive table decoration by each plate was made and given by the. members of Mothers Fellowship. Everyone enjoyed a social time of visiting and are each looking forward to a repeat next year. Many thanks are due the Committee and their helpers. The Sam Cawkers stepped out in style during the week with Ted and Edgar and Anne Emersons ... Friday night in Wellington, the Eagles lines were shaken up. Playing with only two regular defensemen they still managed to defeat the Dukes 8-6. The Eagles started off scoring scoring with the first period's only goal, on a 2 on 1, Chris Dreossi fed Willy McGarvey the puck and he smashed it in the net. Early in the second period, Eagles got two quick goals by Pierre St. Amand and Chris Dreossi. Wellington kept it close by scoring two back on the power play. Willy Willy McGarvey scored his sec- ! ond goal late in the 'period but less than a minute later the Dukes scored to keep the period even. Six minutes into the third. George Pithie missed a gooa opportunity but Chris Snmyr was right behind him to bang in the rebound. Brad Cruess scored shortly after that to give Bowmanville a 6-3 lead. Wellington was hardly out of this game, coming back and tying it with three quick goals, two on the powerplay. It didn't stay tied for long, George Pithie Pithie rammed one betweenthe goalie's legs when he was set up perfectly by Jeff Dawson. This was our annual dinner before Christmas. Following the meal, we returned returned to Starkville to the home of Mrs. Pat Windatt for our monthly meeting. President Sherrill Souch opened the meeting by reading reading a poem and everyone joined in singing the old hymn "Jesus Bids us Shine." Mary-Lou Fonk gave the Bible reading and Ellen Farrow Farrow the devotional "We are the Light" and a prayer. Happy Birthday was sung to Gloria Todd and Mary- Lou Fonk for their November November birthdays. Reports were read by Sandra Sandra Goorbarry and Margaret Margaret Todd. It was announced that a Christmas service will be held on Sunday December December 20th at Shiloh United church with lunch and a social social time to follow. On the first Sunday in December, a dedication will be held of the Bible given to the church by Mrs. Rowena Tizzard in memory of her late husband, a former minister at Shiloh, Photos were taken of Shiloh U.C.W. as a group.
