The customer . area of the present store is too congested congested and the warehouse space is very inadequate. The basement is too low and the entrance is located behind behind the adjacent apartment.^ We are confident that service service levels at the store will be vastley improved as a result result of this move. The new location with its larger size, excellent parking facilities and close.proximity to the new IGA store, will provide increased convenience for its customers. Also, the staff will be able to take part in some of the new initiatives in - merchandising which have brought a vibrant ' shopping environment to LCBO customers in other parts of the province. Bill Wrye Minister of Consumer & Commercial Relations 555 Yonge Street, 9th Floor . Toronto, Ontario M7A 2H6 Dear Bill: The representatives of the L.C.B.O. have made a decision decision whereby the liquor store will be moved from, the downtown part of Orono to the outskirts of the town. The reason for the decision was to have greater space and highway visibility for the liquor store. I can appreciate the business business decision that has to be made by the Board but by the same token a more reasonable reasonable approach might be in order to help facilitate the Board's concerns as well as the concerns of the local business community whereby whereby the store's relocation might have a detrimental effect effect on their- downtown business. In this light I would ask for a meeting with you along with the officials of the L.C.B.O. and representatives representatives of the businesses in Orono to see if a practical approach cannot be reached to accommodate everyone who has an interest interest in the move. Yours sincerely, Sam L. Cureatz. Waverlcy Public School News Teacher, and Parents - by Jennifer Little Our first term at Waver- ley has been a success. The students are getting their report report cards and the parents are coming to the school to look at them and discuss them with the teachers. These are called "Parent/ Teacher Interviews". 1 They talk about the child, the child's behaviour and their report card. They also talk ' .about what subjects they are doing at the school and they look at their child's work in both books and on bulletin boards. Then the parents discuss the work with the teachers. I talked to five parents and all five said that they liked what the teachers, are doing with their child. Three teachers I talked to said they enjoyed the interviews very much. Hopefully, next term will be as good as this one. •Mrs. Pitt's Class - by Chantal Axelson Mrs. Pitt's class has been busy. They recently finished their unit on Mexico.
