Scott Webster played a solid game in net and earned the shutout; however, some of the glory has to be given to the defence defence of the Eagles. Time after time, Ajax was challenged challenged at the blue line and completely destroyed any of the Axemen organized rushes. Just three minutes into the game on the power play, Bowmanville rushed the net, Willy McGarvey passed to Troy Foster and the Eagles never looked back. WASN'T THAT A PARTY? -- Judging from the crowds at the corner of King and Temperance Temperance St. and all along the route of the Olympic torch relay, this town has certainly caught the Olympic spirit. We're running as many photos of the Olympic torch activities as space permits permits in this week's edition. We may even have some left over for next week. Jim Hunter, former member of the Canadian ski team, was the MC for the public reception downtown on Monday. Petro Canada should be congratulated congratulated for the work they do in seeing that the torch proceeds along the highway as planned. It can't be an easy task, especially in this weather. weather. Congratulations should also go to the many local groups which participated and to the folks at the local level who helped organize the ceremony at Bowmanville's four corners Monday. We're guessing that upwards of 2,000 people had a chance to "share the flame" in Bowmanville alone. tKeviit voyait "Drop by and see me today!"
