Not as many attended as usual. Those celebrating were Eileen Barkwell, Katherine Lewko; and Mary Anders. The U.N.O. game was won by Berneice Whell- er. Euchre winners were Fern Thertell; Yvonne Ba- ziw; and Ona Gardiner. After the games a birthday cake .was served a special comment comment was made on Mary Anders 80th birthday. Art In- chley was mentioned as being being 81 this year. On Wednesday, funeral services were held for Robert Robert Waddell at Garden Hill Church. June Smith sang a hymn. He died in Toronto where he lived. Reverend- Sedgwick assisted with the service along with a Toronto Toronto minister. The Waddell family were raised in Garden Garden Hill, his sister Helen, Mrs. J. Homer taught school at Elizabethville for a number number of years. On Saturday the Fowler family held a beef barbeque at the Shack and had most of the families along with Mr. and Mrs. McMurray and Shelley. On Sunday, most of the Peacock families attended the Kendal Church anniversary, anniversary, along with some Garden Garden Hill members. Some of the ones attending from a distance were David and Anne Glenney, Guelph; Mrs. Williams, Bruce ana Robert Murdock; Reverend Glen Ball, Port Carling; Michael and Ann Kelleher, Belleville. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Peacock and family arrived on Thursday from Newfoundland Newfoundland for the wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Peterborough Peterborough also attended. Over the week-end the boys stayed with Ron and Gwen Mercer over night. Brad Minnis a nephew also was down. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Trew were with the Garry Fowler's Fowler's on Friday night and stayed over to help on Saturday. Saturday. On Saturday evening, Trews had Neil and the boys. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. W. Boyko; Neil and boys; Mary Trew, Irene Beatty and Beatrice Beatrice Rowcliff were with Trews for tea. Thursday evening a general general meeting of the U.C.W. was held at Garden Hill Church. Mrs. Susan Peacock, president, presided. The minutes were read by June Smith and several items of business seen to. Money was donated to Elain Kellogg to assist in her trip to Barbados. Plans for lunch at our summer summer services. Also lunch for a celebration at Barb Gray's on May 22. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lewko, Calgary, spent a few days with Mrs. Lewko last weekend. weekend. Her daughter Ann Long, Rochester met them at the airport and spent the few days with her mother also. Mr. and Mrs. H. Quantrill are visiting their grandson Paul this week-end. Elizabethville Sunday school was held as ususal. They have been having as many as 18 attending lately. Mae Muldrew attended an antique and sale show at Coldsprings Sunday and along with daughter Shirley and Bruce ana Mrs. McIntosh McIntosh Sr. had dinner at Gore's Landing.
