Euchre A holiday air prevailed at the Friday night euchre party party at the lyrone Community Centre on December 16th, when there were 22 tables in play. Results were: 1st. Special prizes prizes Laverne Clemens, Dave Hall, Ethel Gibbs. There were a number of extra cash prizes distributed at this party-time party-time euchre. Christmas cake and light lunch with coffee and tea enhanced the time of fellowship. The regular regular card party will take place on Friday, December 23, as usual. The Gala Christmas euchre euchre party was held at the Old Tyrone Hall on Monday evening, evening, December 19, 1988, with 21 tables in play. Miriam Miriam Griffin scored a high 91, Ross McRoberts the Low 41. Special prizes went to Ruby Cochrane, Ada Richards, Lorna Swain and Charlie Nesbitt. Every score card was drawn until all the gifts were distributed. Lunch of sandwiches and Christmas cake was enjoyed. There will be no euchre game at the Old Tyrone Hall on December 26th. See you on January 2, 1989. Bowmanville Sr. Citizens Hold Annual Xmas Dinner The Bowmanville Senior Citizens Group held their yearly Christmas dinner at the Lions Centre December 13th 1988. After a delicious dinner, Mr. Walter Woolley led in Christmas Carol singing singing with Mrs. M. James at the piano. Mrs. Cathcart from Kendal Kendal told us of her arrival in Bowmanville as a young school girl from Sask. She then gave us one of her favourite favourite recitations. Mr. Fletcher on the violin and Mr .Virtue on the guitar played several selections. Mrs. Cathcart then gave one of her Father's favourite pieces. Mr. Fletcher then reminisced reminisced about his early Christmas Christmas memories at Harmony Public School.
