On Thursday, February 16th - The Enniskillen Pathfinders Pathfinders would like to invite the ladies of the community to join them for a Weekender Weekender Clothing Party. The girls will be hosting this event and will be modelling the clothes and serving the refreshments refreshments afterwards. Weather puts a damper on euchre Neatleton-Caaaarea Newa by Mabel Cawker These membèrs of the Bowmanville Figure Skating Club were medalists at competitions held recently in Uxbridge and Min den, Jennifer and David Urwin were silver medalists in the juvenile dance category at Uxbridge and they also won the gold medal at Minden in the Junior Bronze mixed dance. Also in the photo is Cara Gardner who won a silver medal at the Minden competition. She was competing in the Preliminary Ladies' "A" division. A happy event Dale & Dianne Williams of Haydon, have a husky little baby boy, Justin Dale, born on his Mother's birthday, Tuesday, Feb. 7th at 3:30 a.m. in Oshawa General Hospital. Mrs. Joyce Taylor was the capable organist. Psalm 150 was read responsiye- ly and Scripture was 1 Kings 19: 1-16. Mr. Faulkner spoke on "Discipline" and how our lives are governed by God's will for us. The World Day of Prayer was announced for Friday, March 3rd, at 2 p.m. in the Nestleton Community Community Centre...hosted by the Catholic Women's League. The theme, "Lord Teach Us To Pray". Everyone welcome. Caesarea Community Church had a smaller attendance than usual on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. due to so much sickness. Harry Kiezebrink opened the meaningful service and Rev. Dr. Crawford spoke on "Communion"... "Communion"... what it means... based on 1 Corinthians 11:26. Klaas Stek read the first passage of Scripture and Brenda Doucette read the second second one. Rev. Dr. Crawford took the responsive reading. Holy Communion was observed. observed. Assisting the Minister were Bill Ingram and John Doucette Harry Kiezebrink will present the message next Sunday at the Caesarea Community Church... so do try and attend for a worthwhile worthwhile message! At Nestleton Onited Church, the first Sunday in Lent, Ralph Sadler was the friendly greeter at the door. Usher was Chuck Hill. In-' tern Minister Norman Seli brought an excellent message to the congregation, and illustrated story was of interest to the Sunday Sunday School children, about Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. In the choir a Ladies quartet composed of Kathy Tromans, Shirley Jackson, Kay Notman, and Janice MacKenzie sang the old favourite "In the Garden" by C. Austin Miles, with Carol Mairs at the piano. Rd., attended a delightful birthday celebration for son Grant Cawker of Oshawa on Friday evening, Feb. 3rd. Wife Merna and daughter Cathy planned planned a delicious dinner in honour of the occasion. This was topped off with an elegant birthday cake, and many lovely, useful gifts. ' Other folks attending were family family members - Chris, Curtis and Christine of Oshawa. United Church. Sunday, February 19th - Enniskillen United Church will be holding Baden - Powell service at 9:45 a.m. The local Scouting and Guiding Group will be involved involved with this service. At the Township buildings buildings in Hampton (North side of Taunton Road) there are three large recycling bins for metal cans: newspapers and glass. It is suggested that cans and glass be rinsed and labels removed. Cans can be flattened (to reduce bulk). Metal lids from glass jars are not acceptable. We urge the use of this recycling facility facility to reduce the amount of garbage. Mrs. Wilfrid Bowman spent a few days in London where she attended her brother-in-law's funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Howe visited Mr. and Mrs. Harvey for a few days, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wright and Betty attended the Ostrowski - Nimigon wedding on Saturday at Tyrone Tyrone United Church. A belated brunch was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Bowman and family family on the occasion of Dianne's recent birthday. Mr. and Mrs, Keith McGill attended the Ostrowski Ostrowski - Nimigon wedding on Saturday at Tyrone United Church. Mr. and Mrs. Ron G. Brooks are now home after a week's stay in Calgary where they stayed with Doris's Doris's sister. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Howe joined with members of the Dickson family to celebrate Mom Dicksons birthday at Trillium Restaurant, Beaverton. Beaverton. Company this week at Lon Stainton's were Linda Crvderman, Gail Reynolds, Bob Simpson, Bowmanville, Harold Corner, Deanna Stainton, Oshawa. The Heritage Oshawa Select Select Pee Wee team were lucky to win the Pec Wee Championship on Saturday and Sunday, defeating the Hamilton team. Tyrone Club Holds Meeting On Wednesday, February 8, 1989, at the Tyrone Community Community Orange Hall the 60+ Club held their regular monthly hot lunch. It was very heart warming to look out and see 17 tables all full, with the overflow dining in our kitchen. Each month we see new faces which makes us veiy happy. We had a good variety variety of food and lots of it, which was very much enjoyed enjoyed by all who had lunch. Wo have good wholesome meals, and a lot of good fellowship fellowship which is a nice way to spend a cold winters day.
