Peewee Selects travelled to Buffalo to play in the south Buffalo March Classic. The Tournament consisted consisted of teams from Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburg, Mississauga, Mississauga, Hamilton, and Bowmanville with the teams divided into two conferences with the winner of each con ference to play for tournament tournament championship. Now the Bowmanville team had to play two games Saturday against rivals from the other conference. We faced off against Hamilton in the morning and the much bigger Hamilton Hamilton team came out flying and we were behind 2-0 at the end of the first period. In the second period both Hutton Transport Atoms Deliver Three Victories I-Iutton Transport of the BRHL Atom Division chalked up three wins in regular BRHL action this past weekend, scoring 17 times while giving up only two. Oshawa came out fast and at 4:11 of the 1st, Andrew Torrelletti scored on a perfect pass from Brad Lokey. Our boys were flat until 10:03 of the 1st. when Chris Watson feathered a pass to Scott McKay who, like the sniper he is around the net, made no mistake to tie the contest. contest. The spark still wasn't there after the goal, with pressure being put on by Oshawa. Greg Koenderman showed everyone in the crowd that he came to play, with a 2 goalie system all year, the duties are shared, and when Trevor Wright took over from Greg midway through the 2nd frame he showed everyone why these two goalies are both #1 on the team. The great goal- tending sparked the boys and atl4:30 of the 2nd. Clayton Kohn bulged the mesh after being set up in front with a picture pass from Erik Griffin. End to end action took over, with great chances for both teams. At 12:28 of the 3rd, hard work paid off as Scott McKay and Chris Watson Watson teamed up once again to make the score 3 to 1. 30 seconds later, Chris Watson picked up his 3rd assist of the game when he fed Chris Baumhauer in front to make the final score 4-1 in favour of our boys. Ryan Stainton worked hard to keep the puck out of the Hutton net but his bid for a shutout was ended when J&J scored late in the third period to tally the game's final final point. Defenseman Colin Galinski Galinski made several timely and accurate poke checks in this game to thwart several J&J attacks. Ben Medd was quite visible digging in the corners, Niall O Donnell never seems to be intimidated intimidated by many of the opposition's opposition's larger players and is continually giving his all. Paul Hollingsworth, who improved improved his stickhandling early in the season, is lately executing some very good passes.
