On March 15th and 16th, 401 Esso took part in the Snowball Express hockey tournament in Trenton. Our first game on Wednesday night was against the Harmony Harmony team from Oshawa which served us up our first defeat 6-2. The first period went well for Esso. With both teams scoring near the end of the period we were still on even ground. Tying it up for Esso was Ronnie Leger from David Moriarity. Harmony notched one in the second putting them in the lead. The third turned out to be a high scoring period, Harmony put in four to our one. The next game on the schedule for Esso was a 2:30 p.m. with Bayside Dye the opposition. The final outcome outcome of this venture was a 2-1 defeat for the Esso boys. The Bayside got on the board early in the first and held the one goal lead until the 13 second mark of the second when David Chambers Chambers tied it up for Esso. The tie stood until 8:47 of the third when Bayside notched the go ahead marker. Esso kept on digging but just couldn't come up with the puck at the right time. The Esso boys came out checking close and skating hard and it really paid off in the end. After a cautious first period with no scoring, Esso's Ronnie Ronnie Leger let go at 12:05 of the second ana got us under way unassisted. Our second goal of the period was unleashed unleashed by Arron Stoker at the 6:03 mark assisted by Wesley Thompson and David David Drummond..
