"The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild" is a comedy, but it is not just another silly silly farce. The author, Paul Zindel, likes to write the kind of play which is hilariously hilariously funny on the surface, but which deals with a situation situation which is essentially a serious one. Another ofnis plays which fits this description description is "And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little" which the B.D.W. produced in 1983. It took them 2 1/2 hours to get there and they went for 3 days. Miss Ballantyne was taking them on this trip and, she had four assistants to. help her do this job. Those people were: Mrs. Cookson, Mr. Harnum, Mr. Gray, our Vice Principal and Lisa Will- ston who is Miss Ballan- tyne's co-op student. The purpose of this trip was to study natural resources, rock, minerals and wildlife. They all stayed in a big dormitory. dormitory. There was a room for the girls and a room for the boys. While they were there they did things such as: playing volleyball, snow- shoeing, skating, watching movies, playing ping-pong, ice fishing, wildlife studies (deer located and deer yarding) yarding) rock and mineral studies studies and lapidary which is taking a rock and using a machine to cut out a shape or symbol and polish it. They only caught 1 fish which they ate. If it was too cold to go outside or they didn't have anything scheduled scheduled to do, they had free time where they could read or do whatever they wanted. Sad faces appeared as they packed their bags and got back on the bus, Friday, March 10 and headed for home. They had a great time.
