Competing in their third tournament of the season, with runner up award in Oshgwa in December, champions champions in Bowmanville in February and now included to their growing collection the Ennismore Tourney Champs. In game one, Adam & Eve downed the home town Ennismore Pumpers 10-1. Scoring for the Clippers were: Scott MacKay 4 goals and 4 assists, Jim Golcfer 2 goals, Jamie Potter 1 goal and 3 assists, Steve Bosgraff 1 goal and 1 assists, Jessica Andrews 1 goal and 1 assist, Scott Reid 1 goal. Also assisting assisting were: Richard Aasen with 2, Clayton Kohn 2, Kristy Thompson and goal keeper Jeremy Bowen also earning an assist in the game. The two teams have had a strong rivalry rivalry over the season and it was Jimmy's who had won the Oshawa Tournament with a narrow 1-0 win last December but the Clippers revenged that defeat with a hard earned 3-1 win here. The Clippers found the net early as the always hard working Richard Aasen slipped one by Jimmy's Brandon Renton at 1:52 of the first period with Scott MacKay earning the assist. At 2:55 of the second period, period, Jeremy Sanders evened the score with Jimmy's lone goal but at 5:32 of the middle middle period, Scott MacKay from Richard Aasen and Jessica Jessica Andrews gave the Clippers Clippers the lead for good. Scott MacKay notched his third point of the game with a goal at 5:35 assisted by Steve Bosgraaf and Terry Edwards. Although Scott figured in all the scoring, it was another another 100% team effort with a very hard fought evenly ilayed contest. Jeremy "The P' R; age in the Cage' 1 was the difference dowen, in the game as he was merely spectacular spectacular as he produced one fantastic save after the other, other, and was chosen the game's MVP. With this win, Adam & Eve were now in the final where they met Shelburne. Again it was the Clippers on the scoreboard first. Two of the Clippers' grinders, Richard Richard Aasen ana Jamie Potter combined for the goal with Richard finally putting the g uck into the net. Then helburne hit for two quick goals at the midway point of the period to take the lead, but with 23 seconds remaining, remaining, Scott Reid tucked in a rebound assisted by Andy Griffin. With seven seconds Hutton Transport Atoms Begin First Playoff Round The Hutton Transport Atoms Atoms began their playoffs on Sunday, March 26 with a 6- 2 victory over J&J Sharpening. Sharpening. Les McCrory began the scoring midway through the first frame. A breakaway goal by J&J knotted the score but a pass from Jeremy Jeremy Bigham across the goal mouth to Alex Walcer netted Hutton's go ahead goal. Jeff Hughes also assisted. On the second period's opening faceoff.Mike Ferguson Ferguson fed the puck back to Peter Peter Schoep who then rushed to beat the J&J goaltender. Hutton's lead was narrowed when J&J scored on another breakaway but before the period was over the Hutton lead was increased again on a goal by Peter Schoep and assisted by Curtis Coumey- ea. Greg Knox's snap shot through the goaltender's legs early in the third period put Hutton ahead by three. Peter Schoep completed his hat trick to round out the game's scoring. . Later the same day, the Truckers played a hard fought and exciting game of exhibition hockey in the Newcastle Arena against a team from Ajax. For the second second time, Hutton was defeated defeated by a 5-4 score by this same team. The last seconds were tense to say the least for the Clipper's supporters, but the do not fear attitude of the team prevented any further scoring changes. After the game, the team was awarded their well earned "A" Championship trophy and Andy Griffin was chosen his team MVP of the game. The Clippers wish to thank Clayton Kohn for helping out the team and whose hard work and fine defensive play helped in our success. Figure Skaters Win Interclub Medals These members of the Bowmanville Figure Skating Club each won a medal at the Eastern Ontario Sectional Interclub Championship held at Petawawa on March 4 and 5. Jennifer and David Urwin captured a bronze medal at the EOSIC competition in the preliminary mixed dance category. Jagjeet Riar won a silver in the pre-preliminary men's division. Jennifer and David also went on to compete in the All-Ontario Championship.
