Red Cross Water Safety, Blood Clinics and Emergency Emergency Services have benefitted because of your generosity. Emergency Services During the past year, assistance assistance has been provided to 54 persons in all, suffering suffering individual disasters in their lives. Food, clothing, bedding, furniture, dishes and utensils have been provided provided to families after the loss of their homes by fire, as well as individuals needing needing assistance. Church groups, Social Services, Seventh Seventh Day Adventists and Salvation Army Thrift Stores, Service Clubs, and Lodges have played an important important role in setting up families this past year. Also, neighbours and kind friends have come up with clothing just when it was needed. Many thanks to all who have assisted in any way, with a special thank you to Mrs. Doris Van Gunten and staff, and also Mrs. Ruth Jackman, for all your help after fires; you ladies are much appreciated. Also to Strawberry Pickers Sample the Paul Brock for all the leg- work and use of his truck, at the Brookdale fire. Sorry Paul you were left out of that last report. Rebates will be paid only on properties which are farmed, at least in part, by the owner. The rebate will ' be reduced by five per cent for every $1,000 or owner's off-farm income in excess of $40,000 when there is only one property owner or $60,000 when there are two or more property owners. Existing gross production value criteria still apply. Gross production value is defined as total farm sales plus or minus changes in inventory, inventory, minus the cost of purchased feed or livestock. Retired farmers and their spouses, spouses of deceased farmers, individuals who have been required to reduce reduce production due to illness illness and farmers who rent' farm parcels to their own farm operations will be eligible eligible to receive benefits under the program. Seniors Club Enjoys Pot Luck Supper Bowmanville Senior Citizens Citizens met at the Lions Centre, Centre, June 13th. A delicious pot luck supper was enjoyed, convened by Mrs. R. Shack- el ton and her committee. Mrs. Margaret Van Du- sen, Social Worker from our hospital, gave us a very informative informative talk on "Life Line", a service available from our hospital with the help of the Lions Club. Bob Mason, who lives in Courtice with his wife and four children, has operated his own private appraisal practice in Pickering since 1971. He was a founding member member of the Oshawa-Durham chapter of the Appraisal Institute Institute and served as the chapter's chairman in 1977.
