Guest Speaker at Rotary Club's Seniors'Day Discusses Role of Community Care $y> On Monday we had a fair turnout for the foot clinic at Campbellcroft. On Tuesday the Eliza- bethville U.C.W. unit II held their June meeting at Mr. and Mrs. J. Peacock's home. Mrs. Trew the president, presided and had the devotional devotional part on the subject of Father's Day. Mrs. Susan Peacock had the program on the life of our new moderator moderator Rt. Reverend Sang Chul Lee taken from the book, "The Wanderer". The minutes minutes were read by Mrs. Quantrill, plans for our supper supper and the anniversary on Saturday were made. Lunch was served by Mrs. Trew and Mrs. Peacock. A better crowd turned out for the Seniors meeting for cards on Thursday. The Garden Hill Sunday school had the service on Sunday. Mrs. Rose McMur- ray conducted the service. Mrs. Taylor sang a solo. Scriptures were read by the senior students. The announcements announcements were: communion communion service at all charges charges and some new members will be received at Garden Hill. The Benevolent Society will be making a collection as it is the last service before before our outdoor services which will be at 10.30 a.m. instead of the usual 9 a.m. Reverend Sedgwick asked for a vote of thanks to Mrs. McMurray who has been superintendent superintendent for many years and is leaving this year. The children sang a couple of songs and the older ones put on a skit on Fathers. Fathers. Their pins were given out. The thirteen to fifteen years pins were £iven to Mi chele Smith, Shelley McMurray, Grig and Michael Michael Wood. The Sunday school served muffins and coffee and cold drinks at the close. Sunday afternoon, the Elizabethville Sunday school held their service with Reverend Reverend Sedgwick conducting. The children's choir was the highlight of the service. They sang four times Jesus in knocking; God's World over and over; Exodus, and I'll be somewhere Listening. Reverend Sedgwick took as his sermon the story of the two Baptismal services, taken taken from the Bible. Little Justin Justin Ross Yarema, son of Joseph Joseph and Shirley Yarema was baptized. Mr. Mac Walker assisted, Reverend Sedgwick explained the christening in very simple language which really held the children's attention. After After the service, lunch was served in the basement. On Saturday afternoon, Mrs. Barkwell, Mrs. Beatty, Mrs. Muldrew. Mrs. L. White,Mrs. McAllister, and myself attended the 75th anniversary anniversary of the Cavan Women's Institute. A very interesting afternoon with displays and a skit by Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Starr. Lunch was served at the close. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Walker had Barbara and family Peterborough; Peterborough; David and. girl friend Toronto, Jim and Linda Linda and family at different times on the week-end. Also Mr. and Mrs. J. Peacock were with Mr. and Mrs. Walker Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. C. Mercer had Bill and Marie and Glenda on Sunday.
