A happy, nostalgic, family family gathering took place at the home of Dick and Ethel Gibbs on Friday, July 28, 1989, when Dick's cousins, John Nash and wife Joan Nash, North Carolina, Mrs. Reta (nee Nash) and her husband Earl Perkins, Florida, Florida, paid a planned visit. May (nee Gibbs) and Tony Janczyn, Tyrone, Mrs.' Dorothy (Gibbs) Elliott and Miss Frances Gibbs, Oshawa availed themselves of the rare opportunity to- visit with their cousins. A ground trek was made to the near-by historic Tom Gibbs farm house (now the refurbished refurbished summer home of the Vince Lobraico family.) Appreciation Shown to tne Reverend Bonnie Kelly On a glorious summer day the combined congregations congregations of Tyrone and Enniskillen Enniskillen United Church filled to capacity the pretty Enniskillen Enniskillen church sanctuary. The Reverend Bonnie Kelly, with her usual broad, vivacious smile opened the service with familiar words of praise. Beautiful gladioli, roses and other summer flowers, which were gleaned from neighbouring Enniskillen Enniskillen gardens, enhanced the reaching rays of summer sun. The churchly-sounding organ, under the skillful fingers fingers of organist, Ron J. We- roski, tried to claim a churchy. churchy. mood. Down to three ladies, the choir was a valiant valiant reminder. "Summer" clearly and unmistakably was taking everyone hostage. hostage. Reverend Bonnie's discussion discussion with- the children was about putting up a tent, "pitching in" to help. One of tne hymns was "I feel the winds of God to-day; to-day Re' SPECIALS Saturday, August 5th, 1989 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. " <& OFF ALL IN-STOCK ITEMS (excluding sale items) my sail I Bonnie's lift", everend sermon, entitled "Open to the Depths", was about prayer. Some things are solved only by prayer", said Bonnie, and ' she gave some tips on how to "energize prayer". The actual site is well known - that of the old freight sheds on Wellington St. Having lived for years at 146 Wellington St. I have viewed this eyesore eyesore with distaste. I am looking forward to some form of urban redevelopment redevelopment that would improve this area. The proposed plans would appear to complement complement the existing neighbourhood neighbourhood and it has my full support! L.M. Dippell 146 Wellington St., .
