Presently, volunteers are working in the library and Special Education classes. They have found the experience to be both rewarding and educational. Areas in which volunteers can become involved are Special Education classes, library, sports, clerical work and extracurricular activities. Give it a try either on a trial basis or just come in to observe. Interested persons are asked to contact Norm Johnson at 623-4416. Rangers Return The 1st Enniskillen Rangers returned August 29th from a 19-day trip to Europe. The focus of the trip was a 10-day stay at one of the four Guiding World Centres Centres -- Our Chalet -- in the village of Adelboden, Switzerland. Switzerland. We landed in The Netherlands Netherlands at Amsterdam airport and travelled by train through Germany to Berne, Switzerland where we spent our first night. The following day, we enjoyed a walking trip of Berne and then travelled travelled by train and bus to Adelboden. We were all impressed impressed with the beauty of the country, the cleanliness of everything, and the frien- dleness of the people we met. During our session at the Chalet, there were girls and leaders from several different different countries: Canada, the United States, , Australia. Great Britain, Belgium ana. Norway. Together we hiked the Alps, went sightseeing, shopped and enjoyed Swiss treats such as ice cream and chocolate! In the evenings we gathered in the large common room at the Chalet to sing, converse, and learn about life and Guiding in the various countries represented. represented. Friendships were made which will probably continue for many years to come. After leaving our Chalet, we travelled to Paris and visited' the Palace of Versailles, Versailles, the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral. We shopped , ate at sidewalk cafes, and took a boat cruise on the River Seine. Next we visited Belguim and attended a huge open- air market in Brussels. Finally, we returned to Amsterdam where we spent two days touring the countryside countryside and the city, visiting a working windmill, a diamond diamond factory and the home of Anne Frank. We all thank everyone who supported our trip through fund-raising and assistance. assistance.
