Auxiliary Members Attend Convention Joan Appleton, Vivian Cowan, Iris Down, Joyce Weekes and Wilma Coombes of the Auxiliary to Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville were among the delegates from the 221 hospital auxiliaries across Ontario who attended the 79th Annual Convention of the Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario at the Royal York Hotel, Toronto and the Metropolitian Toronto Toronto Convention Centre, October 28 to November 2, 1989. Joyce, as the very capable Convention Registration Chairman, reported a total attendance of 914 including 36 Board and Committee members and 130 first-time delegates. 86 teens and 45 co-ordinators participated in le "Teen Volunteer Pi Pro- on October 28th and the f ram : 9th. Bowmanville. She had been ill - two years. The daughter of Wilfred and Flora Nicol, she was born at Penetanquishene, and educated at Runnymede Collegiate and Western Technical-Commercial. A resident on Leskard Road, Orono for eleven years, she had previously resided resided in Oshawa. For nine to ten years she had been employed employed as a bookkeeper by TRT Sand and Gravel. Surviving are her mother, mother, a daughter Janet (Mrs. Myles Brandt) a son Roger Karas, and a daughter Lee Ann Karas and Elizabeth, O'Connor.
